I think the best way to get your mind off of something is to distract it with something else. So i do what i love to do and what i do best.

"What is the gospel?" I exclaim through my megaphone with bible clinging onto my other hand as i stroll around the Philadelphia love park taking each step slowly and carefully because the last thing i need right now is to get arrested.

I have been preaching for 20 minutes now and have been getting a really decent reception from everyone around me.. by that i mean im being ignored but thats better than having people throw things at me.

There are two other people standing in front of me right now clinging onto every single word i say while others are distracted by the views of the big red Love sign and the fountain around us, i always choose to evangelise in the spots that are popular because it gives me the opportunity to spread the word to as many people as i can.

Elijah is standing behind me with a keyboard as he plays his light gospel music. Its the only thing he actually likes about evangelising. Just being able to play his favourite instrument instead of having to get on the mic and actually speak fills him with joy.

This is how its always been for us though, i have always been the mouth and he has always been the sound. Besides the music is a great addition to it, it makes us more approachable and softens the message.

"The Gospel is the outlining the teachings and the miracles that Jesus Christ performed, how Jesus Christ died on the cross so that we shall be forgiven and given eternal life. How he was resurrected on the third day and is with the father. How he is to return one day and we will see him yet again when he is coming to save those who lived and died for him. Do you want to be amongst those?" I ask the passer byers as they try and speed walk away from me.

"So how do we accept Jesus Christ in our lifes?" One of the young women who have been standing with me for a while now asked. Her face was full of concern, almost like she was unsure of the whole thing.. I put the bible in my bag and shoved the mega phone under my armpit as i walked up to her with a smile on my face.

"Is this something you really wanna do? it aint gon' be easy young jawn. A life to live with Jesus Christ means willingly denying your flesh for the sake of your God.. Are you willing?" I ask her, not to put fear in her heart but understanding. One of the worst things anybody can do to a new believer is to lie to them and say its going to be easy or get better. Like they did to me..

"I.. i dont know" She stutters while biting on her bottom lip in worry. I took a small sigh before reaching into my back pocket and picking out a flyer on instructions to be saved.

"Read this, giving your life to Christ is a big decision, its not something that should be done on a whim. Really think it over first and if you do decide that you are willing to give up your flesh for Jesus, you will be making the greatest decision you have ever made." I assured the young bul with a comforting smile on my face as she responded with the same.

I was surprised when she pulled me in for a deep hug with such gratitude and after a little while i returned the hug...

"Thank you so much.." She said lowly into my shoulder before pulling herself apart from me. I gave her a nod of understanding before i picked up the megaphone and started to speak yet again.

"You see it goes further than just us being screwed as a society, we have all messed up as the human race! All of us! Not one single one of us are free from being guilty of sin. We are all sinners." I start to attract a larger crowd as soon as i call us all out as sinners but that doesn't stop me, Elijah puts his volume higher and plays a different gospel tone.
