"Chief Miller to transmitters, this is a code 10-86, Chief miller and officer Paxton are on duty incognito in search for a wanted suspect." I say as i push down one of the buttons on the radio to the transmission office.

It makes a scattering noise for a second before i get a quick reply on the other end. "Copy that, Chief miller."

"How are things down at the station?" I ask pressing the button again while i drive down on my way to our first stop.

"All is good here Chief. we have the officers on duty and any issues around the city are being investigated as we speak." She replies before cutting the line.

"Good. Keep it up ladies." I say to the office before cutting my own line.

The streets of Philadelphia are cold and quiet at this time, not too much destruction. I dont know if that's a good thing or a bad thing. Im gonna go with the second one because im stuck in a car with my cousin.

God if you are there, help me.

The dim buzz of the car engine is the only thing that we can hear in between our own silences. I very much prefer it this way

"So-" Well it was nice while it lasted, i continue to spin the wheel to take a turn to our first destination.

I make it a task to ignore him, i have no time for his nonsense, whatever that may be today. Me and Paxton have never been fond of one another, he's always been envious of the position that i have been given.

He swears it should've been him who got the promotion but my skill says a lot different, its been up with us ever since.

"Look i know you hate talking about it roman but this will is so much more money than we can imagine. It would be selfish for you not to do this roman." He says in that annoying condescending tone of his, that makes him feel like he is so much greater than me.

a tone that screams, i would've done it if it were my choice. Who am i kidding? He's already done it. He's had the child. He's had the wife, he's done his part. Its all up to me now..

"Your dad put you up to this huh? He couldn't handle the thought of me just living my life? so he set you up to try and talk me into this right?" I say with a harsh growl in my tone, showing my anger in the most subtle way that i can.

"Dad's not the only one that thinks this roman. We are all tired of waiting-"

"Well im sorry for being such an inconvenience to a family that has taken advantage of me multiple times-"

"Is it really this serious?" He asks, as if he just asked me to borrow a pencil or something and not like he just asked me to have a whole family for money.

"Y'all have officially lost your minds."

"Seriously Roman, time is wasting!" He complains, forcing me to put the volume on the radio louder to silence him
