"Has there been any further updates with things?" I ask as i speed walk through the police station to my office, Kai by my side fixing his uniform on his body.

"Not that we have heard, Unfortunately We had to release Lucia Enzo because we had no valid reason for her arrest or to keep her hostage in the holding cell. We dont have any set evidence against her. Only assumptions." He begins as he makes his way down the halls with me

I nod a head at each person i come past as they welcome me back as chief, how can i be so respected her yet not have the ability to solve this case?

Its hanging over my head mocking me like im a fool, treating me like i dont have any power over it, thankfully all that does is push me further.

"Well we need something by the end of today to bring us further into this case or else-" My head turned up at the view in front of me.

"What the hell they got going on down here?" Officer kai asked as confusion filled his face,

"I dont know but I'm about to find out, can i trust you to give out roles for today while i take care of this? I should be down there as soon as i sort this mess out."

"Yes, chief." He walked away from me leaving me alone amongst the wolves who stared me down. All 3 men with mounds if Gel in their shiny hair, their faces looking like they just came from the spa, polished and perfected in their Black and navy suits.

One hand in their pockets and their briefcases gripped to their sides, as they stare me down trying to intimidate me.

"Chief Roman Miller?" One of them spoke up with a questioning tone, i looked down at his hand that was pulled out to shake my own,

With a blank face i put a firm hand in his own and shake it, my eyes never leaving his own to show him i dont fear him or his minions.

"I am he." I reply blankly, one of the three whispers something to their coworker

"We are the lawyers from the Kanann White case with an urgent message for you, may we have 5 minutes of your time?" The voice of the whisperer spoke making me turn my head to him,

"Do i need backup? It seems like an ambush." I say suspiciously

"Anything but that sir. The Judge for this case is more serious than ever and wants us to get something across to you, thats all." He says..

I raise my eyebrow in confusion before crossing my arms at both of them.

"You guys are new. What happened to the last team of lawyers? Did i scare em away?" I ask Jokingly , before stepping through them and opening the door to my office,

"The Judge requested they be thrown out due to the team and i quote holding onto a case that doesn't have enough evidence to even be tried. She asked that we take over immediately starting with sending you a message as an unbiased people." Each word that they spoke came out clean and clear, polished like they have been practicing it before.
