PRINCES!AU - ENCHANTED TAYLOR SWIFT INSPO
Steve looked out the window again, endless carriages had been arriving since morning, and so day after day throughout the week, since it was announced that he had come of age. His kingdom was one of the most powerful, his father was perhaps the most important person in the world, all the kings paid obeisance to him, and that made Steve the most desired heir. His mother had decided that it was time for Steve to marry, so that his wife or husband would learn the labors of government before taking the throne, or if not, at least meet the rest of the heirs to marry in the not too distant future instead of immediately. Numerous balls had been organized, every day new people arrived, those who pleased his mother enjoyed one more evening. But Steve was exhausted, tired of meeting dozens of new faces, of having to remember names of people he didn't care about in the least, of princes and princesses who were more focused on pleasing their parents than getting to know him, of superficial conversations.
The prince got up from the bench by his window and looked at himself in the mirror again, everything had to be perfect or his parents would give him a reprimand, honestly, the last thing he needed. He brushed his shoes until they returned his reflection, made sure his white stockings had no holes, lightly shook out his blue silk pants, checked that the bow on the collar of his shirt was flawless; lightly pulled the laces of his corset, which he had chosen to wear instead of the large vest, which was also blue with gold embroidered patterns and made a magnificent figure, and finally took his coat, equally blue and gold embroidered, making sure it had no wrinkles. Steve turned slightly and took a hand mirror, verifying that each hair was in its place, that the black ribbon that gathered it was impeccable.
-Your majesty -a voice on the other side of the door said -The queen requests your presence
Steve did not answer immediately, but opened the door and thanked the servant as he already strode down the hall, noting that all the candles were lit and the tapestries had been brushed once more. He met his parents at the doors to the great hall, his mother inspected him and smiled in satisfaction, his father didn't even look at him, and then they made their entrance with appropriate cheers, titles and trumpets. He was tired of this, he just wanted everyone to leave so he could be free, so he could escape the eyes of his parents and the servants, run through the gardens and sleep on the grass.
He had barely spent three quarters of an hour at that party when he already felt like he was going to collapse, really, he was going to faint right there if he had to listen to that prince a second longer, he had been talking to him for almost half an hour about how expensive his jacket was, probably thinking that showing off his wealth would attract Steve's attention. Then the brunet, as he drank once more from his glass wishing to get drunk so that his parents would send him to his quarters, saw at the back of the room a boy he swore he had never met before. He was about his height but much, much bigger, his clothes didn't quite cover the strength of his muscles, his skin was tanned and he wore a thin mustache, his hair was golden like the sun and full of lovely natural curls, and he wore it completely loose! Steve had already decided that he was the most beautiful man in the world when the latter looked at him too, then the brunet could see his eyes, deep blue like the sea, sparkling, framed by thick black eyelashes. Yes, he was undoubtedly the most beautiful man in the world.
The boy, who must have been about his age or close if the sight didn't deceive him, smiled as if he knew exactly what Steve was thinking, didn't look embarrassed to have the heir's eyes on him, and didn't bow either. What a nerve. He loved it. But then the man broke the connection in his eyes and the room seemed to go dark, Steve didn't even realize that the illumination had grown before his eyes, as if that man was the sun itself. He turned his gaze back to the prince, who had now begun to talk about the gems encrusted in his shoes, and who had not noticed that Steve had stopped paying attention to him, but out of the corner of his eye he wanted to look again at the stranger, who had disappeared. The dark-haired man tried to look around the room without being discovered, nodding from time to time to make it look like he was following the conversation, managing to see glimpses of that warm being, which moved around the room incessantly.
