The Last Elementalist

Part 7 - United at last

Hikari was watching her younger twin brothers, Kazuki and Keiji, while they played with wooden swords made from sticks. She was afraid that any moment now, one of her little brothers would get hurt. At the same time they were using their elemenal controle to distract the other, grab at the others ankle with vines or just straight up blow them over with strong blow of wind. They might only be twelve, but they both have excellent control over their abilities. Keiji froze time for just a second and used that to get behind his younger twin by fifteen minutes. "Haha got you" he says, holding the wooden 'stick' sword against his twin brother's throat. "Surrender!" Keiji yelled "Never!" came Kazuki's reply, just as he jabs his brother in the ribs and pushes him to the ground. Effectively now holding his own sword to Keiji's throat. "Are you giving up, brother?' Kazuki asks mockingly "You wish" came Keiji's reply. A vine suddenly wrapped around Kazuki's ankle and pulled the poor boy to the ground with brute force. 'Here we go again' Hikari thought to herself. Kazuki released black mist from his hands, his brother became numb. As did the vine since the person controlling it, no longer had any control. He was completely paralyzed. Kazuki grinned "I win" he states "You cheated!" his brother exclaims "Didn't" he retorts "Uhu did so" Keiji replies "Did not" Kazuki snaps "Guys, cut it out!" Hikari exclaims in annoyance as she pulled her younger brother's apart. Sadly, this did not stop the boys from fighting each other. Hikari just got in the middle of it. Fire blazed in her eyes. "STOP!" she yells, but there's something different about her voice. Something that makes the boys immediately stop what they're doing. 

This is one of Hikari's kekkei genkai, she can make a person do whatever she wants them to do. Although she doesn't use it very often, it can get quite handy when you have two little brothers that are constantly fighting each other. "Sorry, 'Kari" her little brother's say in unison. Hikari checks them for any injuries, then hugs them both. "Come on, let's go home" she says, smiling with her eyes closed. "Diner is ready" she adds. Her brothers nod, since they know better than to question their sister. About a minute later Kyoko comes outside and chuckles knowingly as she sees them. "I came to tell you that diner is ready, but I'm guessing that you already know" she states with a small laugh "Just go get Ryo, Yuka and Mai for me, please" she says "Yes, Kaa-san" Hikari says and dashes of to find her other siblings. She sent Ryo and Mai on their way home for diner, but as she was walking to where she knew Yuka was.... She saw something that made her smile and run for the border, momentarily forgetting about her brother.

As she neared the border she saw the familiar gravity defying, gray hair and she just sprinted towards him. She wrapped her arms around his neck. But at the speed she was going, she sent them both flying to the ground. They both burst out laughing. "That was not how it was supposed to go" Hikari said, giggling as she rolled off of him and look to the side at the same time as he did. She smiled at him. "I missed you" she tells him "I gathered as much" he replies with a laugh and then looked at her again. "I missed you too" he said in a serious tone "Come on, you're just in time for diner" Hikari says as she slowly stands up and offering Kakashi her hand, he took it gratefully and together they walked back to the village. Talking all the way.

As they neared the house, Hikari suddenly thought of something.... Or rather someone. "Kuso, I completely forgot" she says cursing to herself  "I completely forgot about Yuka" she says, slapping her hand to her forehead. "You can go inside, I'll go get Yuka" she says turning around and running back from where they came from. Kakashi followed her. "I told you to go inside" she says "What will a few minutes extra be, besides.... I want to spend every second with you now that I'm here" He replies and her face heats up. She tries to hide as her brother comes into view, but he just gave her a knowing look. "Diner is ready" Hikari tells him "How long has it been ready?" Yuka asks jokingly "Prince Charming gets here and I get completely forgotten" He says dramatically putting his hand over his heart " That really hurts, sister, I thought you loved me more than that" he continues to pester her. "Shut up" she mutters as she punches his arm "Awtch, that really hurt, 'Kari!" He continues dramatically as the dramaqueen he is. "What will lover boy here think, hurting your poor brother like that" he adds putting his hand over his head as if he were going to faint. Kakashi sweatdropped, blushing madly at being called 'Lover boy'. "Baka" Hikari says "You know you love me" Yuka tells her "I do usually, right now I'm debating if I should kill you or not" she says sweetly. Making Yuka stop dead in his tracks. "Are you coming? Diner's getting cold" Hikari calls over her shoulder as her and Kakashi start to leave. "I'm coming" he says, hurrying after the two.
