It wasn't long before they got married and the family welcomed Kakashi with open arms, they pretty much had already for a few years now. Now she laid in his arms in their bedroom, taking in his handsome features. Today he would leave for Konoha again, which meant she probably wouldn't see him for a couple of months. She always dreaded the moment he would have to leave, but she knew he had an obligation to his village. But for now they were here in this moment together. She snuggled closer to him, breathing in his scent. Of course she was going to miss him, but it couldn't be helped. She had often thought about leaving her village and go with him to Konoha.... But she couldn't leave her family, could she?
She held him tighter, fearing that if she loosened her grip on him that he would just disappear as he soon would. He started playing with her long white hair and she relaxed immediately. She didn't know why it bothered her this much now. They've been together for four years. Of course she missed him every time he left. But this time it felt different somehow. She looked up at him, meeting his eyes. She smiled at him and gave him a small kiss on his lips. "Good morning" she says. He pulled her closer to him and connected their lips again. Thinking back to last night. "Good morning, 'Kari" he replies drowning into his wife's ocean eyes. She traces his jawline with her fingers. "Do you really have to leave?" she asks and he starts laughing. She did this every time he left. "You know I do" he says. She sighs and than smiles at him. "But you're here now, so lets make the most of it" she tells him with a sly look in her eyes and he immediately understood.
They only came downstairs when it was already in the late afternoon. So they had a quick bite for brunch since there wasn't much time left until Kakashi had to leave for Konoha. After brunch they walked towards the threshold hand in hand, like they always did. Hikari wrapped her arms around his neck and tears welled up in her eyes. He just held her close. He kissed her with his mask still on, which made Hikari laugh, but she kissed him back none the less. She took a deep breath "See you in a few months." she says "See you in a few months." he says with a closed eye smile. He turned around and stepped over the threshold, like he has done so many times and she watched him until he wasn't in sight anymore.
In the next month Hikari was plagued by extreme nausea and vomiting throughout the day. She didn't think much of it at first, thought it was something she ate. But as the time went by and the nausea didn't subside, only then did she think that.... she might be pregnant. Hikari was overjoyed. Yet, wasn't even certain that she was in fact pregnant. She decided to go to her mother, a healer, to confirm her suspicions and she did confirm them. Hikari was in fact pregnant. The joy made place for fear. What if Kakashi didn't want this baby? How was she supposed to tell him? She couldn't very well break the new over a letter, right? She was now panicking. "Breath in" her mother tells her. She inhaled. "Breath out" her mom says and she exhaled "In" her mother says and she does what her mother tells her to, feeling herself calming down "Out" her mother tells her and she breaths out. "Arigatto, Kaa-san" Hikari says, hugging her mother.
Kakashi still hadn't returned. Hikari was now three months pregnant and already had a little baby bump. She no longer had the extreme nausea and she decided she would travel to Konoha. Because she thought that at this rate he would arrive back here after the baby was born. Of course her older brothers tried to reason with her, but she wouldn't have any of it. So, they would do the next best thing.... They would travel alongside her. After a lot of arguing she agreed that they could travel with her. Now.... There was one tiny, little problem... None of them knew how to get to get there, since none of them had ever been outside of their village....
