Over the next four years, it went just like that. Kakashi still did his job for the leave village as an ANBU, but every few months he came back to the small village hidden in an illusion at the borders of the land of lightning. Any free time he had, he either spend writhing to Hikari or traveling to the land of lightning to be with her. Even if it was only for a short while. He enjoyed every second of the time he had with her. She had even grown more beautiful in the years that went by.
This time he was beyond nervous as he traveled to where the Elementalist's hideout was hidden. Not that he wasn't excited to see her again. Of course he was. The small box he had hidden in his jacket felt heavier the closer he got. You'd think that traveling for an entire week would lessen the nerves.... It didn't. Quite the opposite actually. 'What if she says no?' he thought. "She wouldn't" he mutters aloud "But what if she did?" he asks himself "What if she did what?" he suddenly heard from above.
"Yuka?" he asks recognizing the voice and looking up to see Hikari's older brother, who has become one of his closest friends over the years. Yuka jumped down and landed in front of him. He looked at him with a knowing grin. "You're finally going to ask her, aren't you?" He asks bursting with excitement. "I knew it! Now let me see the ring!" he adds excitingly. He chuckles at best friends excitement and takes out the tiny box. "How did you know?" Kakashi asks his friend "Oi, there's only one thing that can get you this nervous and that thing is a person and her name is Hikari Chisaka AKA my little sister." Yuka explains "It's so obvious, a blind person would be able to see it" he adds with a laugh "That obvious, huh" Kakashi says sweatdropping. Yuka starts laughing again. "Don't worry she'll love it"he says handing Kakashi back his ring "She's been patiently waiting for you to propose and you know how patient she is" he says with a laugh. Kakashi sweatdropped again, knowing that Hikari could be rather impatient.
They walked to the hideout together. Yuka teasing Kakashi all the way there, successfully alleviating his nervousness. He could do this. How hard could it be? He saw Yuka wiggle his eyebrows at him and Kakashi playfully pushed him. Yuka of course, pushed him back. Kakashi ended up in some bushes, playfully glaring at Yuka who was holding his stomach as he loudly laughed. Eventually he offered his hand to help Kakahi out of the bushes, still giggling and Kakashi was still glaring at the older male while trying to rid himself of the dirt, leaves and twigs. "You still have some....Wait, I'll get it" Yuka says removing some more twigs from his gravity defying hair. "There. You're twig free." he says still laughing.
It took a lot longer that it should have to get to the threshold that hid the Elementalists from the rest of the world. The had only just entered the threshold, before Kakashi was on the ground again. One of the twins, who were throwing balls of wind at each other, had crashed into Kakashi while catching the ball of wind. Yaku of course began laughing again as well as the other twin. "Sorry" Keiji said as he quickly stood up and they resumed the game as if nothing had happened. Kyoko starts scolding her twin sons about being more careful and went over to Kakashi who was just getting up. "Are you okay?" she asks "Yes" he replies, still a bit stunned that this had just happened. "Those can actually do quite some damage, I can ask Hikari to take a look and make sure that you are actually okay?" she asks. He was about to reject the offer, but that would be the perfect opportunity to propose to her. He nods. "Hikari is by the riverside" she says "Thank you, Kyoko-san" Kakashi replies.
Kakashi walks to the river and gathers his courage as he approached Hikari. She looked up and smiled the second he came into view. He always forgot that she was great at sensing people. She dropped the flowers she was picking and threw her arms around him. She slowly pulls away. And just smiles. "You're back" she states. He pulls down his mask and smiles back at her. She stood on the tips of her toes and kissed him on his mouth. "I missed you" she says, he leans down and catches her lips with his own. "I missed you too" he replies, smiling at her. "You seem nervous" she says. Kakashi took a deep breath and got down on one knee. "From the moment I met you, I knew you were special. I never believed in love at first sight, but then I met you....All I can say is I love you always and forever. You complete me, being with you makes me happy and it would make me even happier if you would want to be my wife" he takes out the little box and opens it "Hikari Chisaka, will you marry me?" he asks. Hikari is smiling brightly at him. "Yes! Yes! A thousand times yes!" she squeals, tears of happiness running down her cheeks, Kakashi put the ring on her finger and stood up. She pushed her lips to his and as they pull away she wraps her arms around him. "I can't believe this is finally happening!" she exclaims. Their fingers locked together. "We're getting married" she states as if she still couldn't believe it.
