As Edric and Emira arrived back at the manor, Edric was smiley and bouncing the whole time, giddy that he got to flirt with the Golden Guard again. It was honestly starting to get on Emira's nerves. How can he think he's in love with the Golden Guard when he's clearly head over heels for Hunter.

Once they were inside, and situated upstairs in their separate bedrooms, Emira went straight to Amity's room hoping she was here and not with Luz.

Emira knocked on the door and waited for a response, once she got none she was about to walk away until Amity opened the door. "Hey Em, what do you need."

Emira decided to cut right to the chase. "Hunter is the Golden Guard and he def likes Ed but Ed is too dumb to realize he feels the same about Hunter and not the Golden G. so we both need to convince him that he's an idiot and is in love with the emperor's nephew." Emira inhaled over dramatically having said all that really fast, like a ramble. Also she figured calling him the Golden G. was a suitable nickname.

Amity sat stunned for a moment and didn't know what to say. "Okay I think I got everything you said, but wait you know he's the Golden Guard?"

Emira sighed. She was still trying to process the fact that their new friend was the Golden Guard and the fact that she didn't figure it out earlier, and wait Amity knew....?

"Yes I know, I figured it out and he confirmed it to me, but wait you knew this whole time!?!"

Amity had a only slightly guilty look on her face. "Yes, I knew who he was from the beginning because of Eclipse Lake, when I saw him at school I interrogated him and he didn't seem to have any alternative motives. Hanging out with him and seeing his feelings for Ed only further confirmed that."

Amity's words put Emira at further ease. Knowing that Amity was okay with him made her trust him more.

"Anyways, yeah I agree we need to help realize his feelings, without revealing Hunter's secret." Amity put emphasis on the last part to make sure it was understand. Emira nodded. So the pair decided to head to Edric's room.

The door was open about 3 inches so the duo peered inside and saw Edric over at his big window again staring out at the sky. They fully opened the door and walked in, the noise startling Edric into turning around.

He looked only slightly shocked to see the two of them standing there looking serious. "Hey guys, what's up?"

Amity spoke first. "Edric, do you like Hunter, yes or no."

Edric involuntarily blushed. "Yeah of course I do, he's a good friend, he's nice, he's-"

Emira cut him off before he could continue. "No, not as a friend, like you like-like him, as in love, maybe."

Edric looked slightly stunned then looked sideways not meeting their eyes.  "You guys already know I have a crush on the Golden Guard."

Amity rolled her eyes. Ugh this excuse again.

"Ed do you think that you truly are in love with the Golden Guard. It's a silly celebrity crush that will never amount to anything."

Ed whipped his head over to stare her in the eyes. "It will amount to something, he likes me too, right Em, you were there."

Emira shook her head solemnly. She felt bad for Edric but this had to be done. He had to come to this realization.

"Edric, your crush on the Golden Guard is like the attraction a middle school girl feels for the cute kid. But I've seen you with Hunter, the way you look at him is more than just a simple attraction, there's real feeling there." Edric didn't know what to say, they were right but he didn't understand it entirely. He looked at the ground again.
