Edric was staring outside his very same window. This was becoming a ritual of his, especially when he was deep in thought. Usually his thoughts consisted of a certain special Guard but this time, the only cute boy that clouded his mind was Hunter.
Edric's thoughts swarmed with every occurrence they had, had. From their first meeting when they accidentally bumped into each other. At first it seemed like a clumsy mistake, like an accident, but maybe it was just meant to be.
Maybe I was meant to bump into. Maybe I was meant to be his friend. Meant to show him kindness, and show him the way.
That seemed preposterous, fate wasn't real, there was no overpowering force that controlled his destiny. But that idea didn't seem too far fetched considering there was a portal to another realm full of Humans with round ears, instead of pointy. Luz coming here sure didn't seem like an accident, so maybe his befriending of Hunter wasn't either.
The pair of them had gone through so much together. Bullies, tests, nightmares, movie night, truth or dare, a kiss...
The kiss....
The kiss was the first time Edric felt like he may feel something for Hunter, but he blew it off as just convincing himself he was flustered.
If it was truly apparent that he didn't like him, then why would he need to convince himself. That was the main thought that was tearing Edric apart. The fact that he needed to convince himself that he didn't like Hunter, and was instead in love with the Golden Guard.
The two of them are quite similar. They have similar voices, and physical structures, but Hunter couldn't be the Golden Guard, it wouldn't make any sense,
Unless....
Edric had wanted desperately this whole time, ever since his dream in class to see the Golden Guards face, to finally know, who he was truly dreaming about, and now Edric realized something.
Whenever he was daydreaming about the Golden Guard, he usually had the mask on, but sometimes he would have it off. Since he didn't know what he looked like, he envisioned his face as someone else, and every single time, the person he envisioned was Hunter.
He saw his face, magenta eyes on full display sparkling and contrasting perfectly with bronze gold armor he sported. He looked perfect and Edric just usually played off this connection as just a simple association, but maybe it was more.
It was definitely way more.
Meanwhile...
Hunter felt something warm pressed against his eye, then followed by a sting that caused him to wince and let out a low hiss. After his sudden movement he heard some form of whispering. He started to open his eyes slightly, the light hitting them suddenly causing him to feel dizzy and things to look hazy and blurry. Once his vision started to clear he noticed a group of faces looking over him. His vision cleared more, and the first face he saw, was the face of the Owl Lady, which caused his heart to almost stop for a moment. He stood up quickly, which gave him slight whiplash, causing him to lay back down on the couch he was placed on.
"Hey take it easy kid, Belos messed you up pretty good." She didn't seem to be threatening him, and lately Hunter had been trusting her more, and more so he didn't make any move to try and escape.
"How did I take here,?" Hunter spoke in a raspy voice, soar from his screams from before.
Suddenly a new face came into view, a face he had probably only seen once. It was Steve, like Emperor's Coven Steve. His blue eyes peered into Hunter's and his face was laced with worry, but also relief.
