Dinner with Gus and Darius was incredibly interesting. It basically consisted of Gus asking Darius a various amount of questions about the coven and abomination magic, along with Darius trying not to explode for Hunter's sake. After dinner the two boys ran upstairs to play some kind of game while Darius sat in his armchair scrolling through penstagram and commenting on Alador's lame posts.

"So Gus, what do you wanna do?"

Gus tilted his head up in thought. "Hmm, I'm not really sure, I do have a question though, do you think you've really broken free from the emperor?"

Hunter shuddered a little a the question. He wanted to believe he was truly free from Belos' grasp, but he knew that that wasn't the case. He felt connected to Belos somehow, like Belos was able to stalk his every move, and see everything he was doing. It just felt like he was always being watched.

"The truth is, I don't. I know Belos is still after me, and he's waiting to strike. All I know is I have to stop him, before he hurts the people I care about."

"You're right Hunter, we are just going to have to defeat him before he has the chance to do anything."

We...That word stuck out to Hunter. He didn't want anyone getting in the middle of his own battles. He didn't want anyone getting hurt for him.

"No, there is no we Gus. There's just me. I can't let you guys risk your lives just to help me, I won't let you." Gus frowned and put a hand on Hunter's shoulder calmly.

"Hunter you don't have to go through this alone. Belos has affected all of us. It's our battle too, and we are going to stick together with you through it all."

Hunter had never really had people watching his back throughout his life, but now knowing he had a whole group of people willing to fight together with him brought so much joy to his heart. Hunter blinked away a fresh tear in his good eye before it could fully form and drop. He thanked Gus for his kindness, then realizes just how late it was getting.

"We should probably head to bed now, that way we can meet with the others and train." Gus nodded and moved his finger in a glowing ring creating an illusion sleeping bag, that somehow was able to stay put and retain it's shape.

"Titan, sometimes I really wish I had magic," Hunter sighed.

Gus looked at him shocked. "Wait you don't have magic, what about all the teleporty things you do?"

"Oh, I do all of that with my staff and artificial magic. Belos says I was somehow born without magic, but now I think it was him who orchestrated the whole thing. He hates wild magic."

Hunter thought it could be possible that Belos somehow made it so he didn't have magic. Belos did murder his past crush, so he wouldn't put something that inhumane against him.

"Well Belos is wrong about magic, and hey maybe Luz can teach you some of that glyph magic she does," Gus suggested.

"Yeah...maybe she could." Luz and him were friends now right? So she probably wouldn't mind teaching him some of the spells shs knew.

"Alright well, goodnight Gus," Hunter said turning off the lamp on his bedside table and hopping into his bed.

"Goodnight Hunter," Gus replied pulling his sleeping bag up to his neck and cuddling with his palismen.

Hunter turned to the right side of the bed facing the wall where Flapjacks nest was beside him. Flapjack was asleep all cuddled up underneath a blanket. Hunter softly smiled at the sight.

"Goodnight Flapjack," he whispered leanning down and stroking Flapjacks head feathers slightly.

Hunter layed his head down on his pillow and closed his eyes, hoping he'd drift off into a calm peaceful sleep.
