The Collector's Quest

Hunter started his descent into the forest, searching for the crystal balls that the Collector had mentioned. For some reason the forest felt very familiar to Hunter. It felt like he had walked these paths before, but only this time they looked different.

Hunter trusted his instincts and kept walking where it felt familiar. He was watching his back as the collector was floating behind him; his big eyes watching him intently.

"So...Collector, you mentioned hints, when will I get one," Hunter asked, hoping they'd comply.

"Meh, you're not fun. But watching you walk around randomly is quite boring, so I guess I can help you out a little bit, but no more freebies after this," they said.

"You can find the first crystal ball below the bridge of stone, from there, continue along the north path," the collector explained.

Hunter knew what he was talking about. He was referring to a bridge obviously, and Hunter had just spotted one in the distance. He walked over there, and true to the collector's words, the crystal ball was there. Before Hunter could pick it up the Collector levitated it into this big floating bag.

"One down, two more to go," he clarified.

Hunter continued north like the collector said, looking around warily, trying to spot the next too. Hunter also kept looking behind him at the collector floating behind him. He was actually on a blue star now, tossing his first crystal ball up and down, seeming quite bored.

He's so mysterious. Since when was Belos teamed up with this....child. Magical child it seems. He seems friendly but yet so sinister. I can't trust him, but maybe I can find out more about him and why he's working with Belos.

Hunter coughed a little, clearing his throat before speaking. "Sooo, Collector, why are you helping Belos?"

"Well, I suppose I can tell you. I like when people are interested in talking to me. So I'm not really working with Belos, I'm more so working for him." The collector looked a little sad. Like actually sad.

"What do you mean, for? You seem pretty powerful, you could easily overpower him if you wanted to," Hunter said. The collector made him float, and then slammed him into a wall. He also created this entire forest. That's incredibly strong magic that even Belos didn't have.

"It's complicated. I'm trapped. Belos told me if I help him, he'll free me, and then I'll get to play everyday with everyone!"

"If I were you, I wouldn't trust Belos." Hunter felt sorry for them. They were just a kid, and they just wanted to play, but Belos won't let him. He's just using him.

"Belos lied to me my whole life, he could be lying to you," Hunter warned.

"He promised though. I don't think he'd break that promise," the collector claimed innocently.

"Maybe not, but just be careful of him," Hunter said. The collector gave a puzzled expression, thinking about Hunter's words but not considering them long enough before zooming infront of Hunter.

"Y'know what Hunter. I really like you. When Belos lets me out, I wanna play with you again," he said.

Hunter thought about it. The collector didn't seem harmless but he didn't seem to want to hurt Hunter, he would have done it already if he really wanted to.

"I wouldn't mind that," Hunter said flashing a smile. This caused the collector to beam, his eyes sparkling with glee.

"Well new friend, you're coming up close to the next crystal ball," he revealed.

New friend? Hunter wasn't sure but he kinda liked the term. Maybe he could help this kid out like all his new friends and almost boyfriend helped him.
