Harry caressed his lover's skin with his fingertips, they were both naked in his bed, lit by a sun that was low on the horizon, but wouldn't go down for several months.

When Charlie had arrived at his house, Harry had been afraid of losing him, but in fact not. The redhead had taken him in his arms and kissed him as if his life depended on it, then they had gone up to his room and made love with passion and eagerness. Once they were satisfied, Harry had been able to explain everything, the threats on Teddy, the attack at Andromeda's house, the flight to the United States, the complete isolation from the magical world until the Safe wizards party turned their eyes away from America, and then finally being allowed to see him again.

Charlie was happy to have found the man who had stolen his heart, to be in his arms and to know that he would come back again. He had taken it badly at first not to have been taken by Harry when he fled, but now he understood, it would have been too suspicious, it would have put too much pressure on his family. The secret would have been too much to bear, even though the one he was now in charge of was huge. He knew that Harry didn't tell him everything, but he didn't blame him, he understood that it was for security reasons. He was already glad that he was no longer being kept in the dark.

After the explanations, they had made love again more gently this time, rediscovering each other slowly. They had fallen asleep in each other's arms and the next day Charlie had left for work by way of his brother's house.

At the end of his workday Charlie would spend several hours with his brother and sister-in-law and then return to Harry's house to share a few hours with him. They were both happy with their time together, but that morning their hearts were heavy. The alarm clock rang, but neither of them got up. Charlie rolled onto his side to trap his smaller dark-haired man in his arms.

"I'll try to come back soon, try not to disappear in between, okay?"

"I can't promise you anything," Harry whispered back.

"I know," Charlie breathed, his heart heavy.

"Write to me, by Muggle mail is safer."

"I promise."

They kissed passionately before Charlie finally got up to get dressed. Harry glared at him, then did the same. He fetched a piece of paper to give him his address while the dragon rider finished getting ready and waited for him by the fireplace.

They kissed again.

"Te iubesc," Charlie whispered as they parted.

"I love you too," Harry replied in the same tone.

He watched as his dragon rider disappeared into the green flames then went to open his textbooks.

Harry threw himself wholeheartedly into his studies, he wanted to be able to go to university the following year, to see the world. For that he had to validate the last year of high school, either, he was going to give himself the means. If some subjects like chemistry, which was very similar to potions, or English did not pose him any problems at all; others, like political science or American history, remained an enigma for him who had never tackled these two subjects. He took advantage of taking Andromeda to driving school to take Teddy to the little library in town to borrow books for both of them: American history and children's stories!

The weeks passed, all looking the same. Only the pace Harry was trying to keep for his classes and Teddy gave him a reason to get up in the morning. September passed, the nights began to appear and the cold began to fall. Harry had to wait until mid-October to finally hear from Charlie.

That morning he woke up at about six o'clock, as usual, hearing Teddy stirring. He went to take care of the boy and gave him his breakfast, looking absentmindedly out the window. It wasn't until he was tidying up the kitchen that he spotted that the flag on the mailbox was up. He jumped to his feet like a spring and ran outside to Andromeda's laughter. An envelope with a Romanian stamp was waiting for him. He felt his heart warm up and a blissful smile light up his face. He hurried back inside and opened his mail as soon as he had closed the door.
