The Star Festival

"What is this again? And why are we dressed all nice?" Ellie asks as she walks with Luz and Amity.

"It's The Star Festival! It's all bout celebrating the blooming of Star Saffrons." Luz explains. "It's also the most romantic festival in the Boiling Isles. You're supposed to dress nice in case you find the one." Luz speaks wishfully.

"There's even a rumor about the flowers. If you sit by the bushes with someone and one of the flowers falls in your lap or your hair, you've met the person you want to be with." Amity explains with a red face.

"I love that rumor!" Luz says with her face matching Amity. They continue to stare at each other with matching blushes for a moment.

"Good lord." Ellie groans before walking off into the festival.

There are stands and a lot of purple decorations to match the flowers. The flowers appear to have purple petals and a yellow inside. She strolls through the festival and the music fills the streets. There's dancing, food, and even people out on the lake. Suddenly, she feels someone grab her hand. She turns around to see her favorite blondie standing with a big smile.

"Hey, princess. I didn't know you were gonna be here." He laughs.

She laughs with him before looking down to see their hands still together. Both of their cheeks go pink and Hunter drops her hand trying to keep a smile.

"I didn't know you were gonna be here either. You don't seem like the type to attend these things." She explains.

"I'm not. Well, usually. This is being used as a Coven head/Emperor's coven outing so my uncle let me come." He smiles even bigger.

"I was with Luz but she seems to really like Amity." She laughs.

"You look nice, you look beautiful." He compliments her as he observes her. She wears a purple dress with slightly puffy sleeves. All over again, she has all of his attention.

"Thank you. You look great too, I've never seen you outside of your uniform at this hour." She teases.

Someone running pushes Ellie and she falls into Hunter. He holds onto her forearms immediately as, for what feels like the hundredth time, he blushes.

"Sorry, sorry. And you know, I'm sorry for bothering you. I'm sure you have other coven stuff to do." She smiles at Hunter again.

"No, I don't. That's why I was so glad my princess is here. I don't know how these things work yet, Belos never let me go out before." He laughs and finally lets go of her arms.

"Me either. Wanna figure it out together?" She holds out her hand to him again.

"Maybe I do, maybe I don't." He jokingly squints and looks around.

"Enough with the cool guy crap." She giggles. "Come on, Goldie."

He lets her take his hand again and his heartbeat quickens. He's been trying all week to stop feeling like this around her but it's hard. All he wants to do is have fun but he keeps getting this feeling when he's around her. She leads them all the way to this food stand where they have free samples.

They both take one, Hunter seeming more unsure. She leads them a little further away before they try it. They countdown together before tasting it.

"Is this...FROG?" Ellie shouts before looking down at what she just bit.

"Oh, my Titan." Hunter cringes before they both start aggressively spitting it out into the grass.

"I'm sorry, Ivy." Ellie chokes out as she can still taste it on her tongue.
