Two years have passed since the conclusion of the war between The Empire and The Resistance. With the defeat of The Empire, a new nation was born.
But as it turns out, the people of the old nation found it hard to change from their old ways. Most resisted or fled, while there were some who could not accept their new reality and fought to change it.
Some of the former nation's leaders joined The Resistance to help guide this new land and its people. Surprisingly, all who joined forces were genuine in their intentions and further boosted the progress of the Revolution.
But like most forms of progression, it was slow and would take some time. With progress came change, and most people are hardwired to resist it, especially after experiencing or doing something for a long period of time.
But that's okay. The land that was formerly known as The Empire wasn't built in a day after all.

He walked through the rebuilding streets of the Capital of the new land. Even though he had been through here countless times before, the environment felt new. Perhaps it was because of the changes that had occurred while he was gone.
???: <Two years...>
To most he passed by, he was unrecognizable. The two years he had spent away in isolation had changed him, mentally and physically.
After spending much of his time away from civilization, he returned to the place he once terrorized for a number of years. He had grown curious about what was transpiring in this new, yet foreign territory.
???: <This place is a wreck.>
The battle that took place here had done a number to the city. After it was won, The Resistance, former members of the Imperial Government, and citizens of the Capital joined forces to rebuild the destroyed city. Much progress had been made, but there was still much more that needed to be done.
The man felt himself smile upon seeing the comradery between former enemies on opposite sides of a war. But as much as he admired this, he wasn't here to offer his services, nor have a chat with some of the people.
When he left this city two years ago, he had also left a house. It was nothing major, just a simple one-bedroom house with a living space, bathroom, and dining area. He was curious if it had been destroyed or not during the battle.
He remembered the quickest route to his small abode. As he neared his destination, he noticed something off.
???: That's strange, I could've sworn it was right here...
???2: Yeah, it was demolished a few months after the battle ended.
The man quickly turned around, ready to meet whoever was behind him. The first thing he noticed was a familiar pair of pink eyes and the stick of a lollipop that stuck out to the right side of her mouth. He couldn't help but chuckle seeing her again.
???: Of all people to run into here first, I didn't expect it to be you, Chelsea.
Chelsea: It's not my fault you were acting all shady trying to get here, (Y/N). So, why were you looking for this house in particular?
From what he remembered, Chelsea hadn't changed much in the two years since he'd last seen her. Her hair was relatively the same length and had the same style. Her demeanor was very much the same as well. Hell, even the style of clothing she wore hadn't differed either.
The same could not be said about (Y/N). His skin was still rather pale, but not as deathly as before. His hair had grown out considerably, although the majority of it was held up in a high bun. Most of his attire was made from the skin of snakes he had skinned. How he acquired this skill is a mystery. But the real change in (Y/N) was primarily in his character.
