Another month passes by without anything of significance happening. Night Raid was appearing to lay low for the time being while the Empire was dealing with small attacks from the Revolutionary Army and... its own citizens.
To no one's surprise, many of the citizens in the Empire, mostly those who resided in the Capital, were unhappy with the current landscape. And while they had been vocal about it before, the displeasure from the common folk was more prominent than ever.
Protests and riots were daily, and despite the Emperor making constant moves to stop these, they were all in vain. And as the days passed, more of these continued and the mood of the people who lived in the Capital continued to decline.
The Empire, as people knew it, was beginning to fall apart under its own weight. And soon enough, it would completely fall to the ground.
Run from it. Dread it. Destiny arrives all the same.

Wave: Damn it!
Wave is having a bad day, to put it lightly. At least, he's having a bad start to his day.
The rowdy citizens of the Capital have been acting "out of line" as stated at the beginning of the chapter. The answer to this behavior today was to send Wave into the angry mob of civilians.
Alone.
While he in himself was a good person at heart, that mattered little considering the reputation of his senior commander, that of course, being (Y/N). Kurome was still on stand-by as her condition was worsening while Run was delegated to other duties that didn't involve an upset crowd of people. Esdeath was MIA as she and a small troop of soldiers were sent out to silence a group of rebel soldiers while (Y/N) spent most of his time standing by the side of Honest and enforcing rule whenever he saw fit.
Wave: How much longer do we have to put up with this?!
Run: It won't be much longer. The Empire's collapsing all on its own.
Wave: The people that we were supposed to be protecting are now against us. Do we even have a place here anymore?
Run: Wave, you must try and stay calm. Even after this war ends and the Revolution passes, the chaos won't end. And when that time comes, the people will need our help.
Wave: Run... Did you know this would happen?
Run: I did... But I certainly didn't expect it to start this early. My hope was that the Empire could one day reform. That's why I joined the Jaegers. I wanted to make a difference from the inside.
Wave: "Make a difference"?
Run: This Empire has been corrupted. Even so, I still believe this kind of rebellion is unacceptable.
To Wave, this sounded awfully familiar. It was almost as if someone had told him this before.
Wait a minute, somebody DID tell him.

(Y/N): This is long overdue, but I need to tell you something about the Empire. I'm not sure if you've noticed by now, but this place isn't all it seems to be. Trust me when I say this: This place is corrupt. And so are many of the people in it.
