6:00 AM

A beeping sound abruptly blasted in Atsushi's ears as his alarm beeped him awake. He jumped up immediately and snapped into consciousness. He slapped his alarm clock and hopped out of bed to get ready for the nervously awaited day .

As soon as Atsushi stepped out of his bedroom he was greeted by the chilling presence of the ghost that roamed his apartment. Seeing as how this was a new experience for him, naturally he was still shocked . In truth, he had almost forgotten the supernatural occurrence in the first place.

"Oh..Ugh goodmorning ." Atsushi uttered as he shut his bedroom door behind him.

Akutagawa stayed silent ,as if he had heard nothing escape Atsushi's mouth. He stood tall next to the window and continued mindlessly staring out into Yokohama City. Atsushi took in Akutagawa's features. His piercing eyes gleamed somehow softly in the morning light. And the way the sun had risen resulted in a warm glow that blanketed him. This glow made Akutagawa look alive in some strange way.

While Atsushi was entranced in admiration for Akutagawa's complection ,he failed to recognize the fact the Akutagawa was staring directly at him with a confused, almost concerned look scattered upon his face.

"What are you looking at Jinko? " Akutagawa snapped unexpectedly .

"O-oh I was just ugh..Spacing out is all..Yeah.."

"What ? Did you think I was staring at you or something? Pfft! In your dreams ! "Atsushi followed with.

"Like I'd benefit from your validation any way...You wish ." Akutagawa snareled back, clearly agitated by the statements being made.

"And what's up with this new nickname ? Jinko? How childish of you." Atushsi responded swiftly.

"Anyways, I don't have the time to be arguing over immature rubbish with someone like you anyways. " Atsushi said, walking out the door and locking it behind him.

Atsushi walking speedily out of the building. He couldn't help but at least feel somewhat remorseful for the  vengeful spirit.

"It had sounded like he went through enough as it is already...I shouldn't add more fuel to the flame.. Maybe I was being a bit too harsh and-" Atsuhsi's mind was racing ,unable to capture a single thought that flew in his mind. When suddenly, his thoughts were cut of by a familiar voice.

"Yo! Atsushi! What's up?" Ranpo called from the front seat of his conveniently placed van.

Atsushi had forgotten that he had asked Ranpo to drive him on campus...

"O-oh! Hey man! "Atsushi hastley replied, startled by the intercession.

Atsushi rushed over to the vehicle, jumping on in as soon as he approched it.

"Sorry i'm a bit late I ugh..had some distractions. " Atsushi exclaimed sorely .

"Nah man it's cool! Anyways, are you nervuos ?"

There was an akward pause after the question had been thrown out into the open .It was indeed, a stupid question.

"Ugh..Sorry..I know this is hard for you and all.." Ranpo apologized truly, making sure to emphasize the 'sorry' part as much as possible.

"No you're fine! You're right...I'm pretty anxious about this.. I mean I haven't been to a proper school since middle school... Just...what if people there are the same as that  place. " Atsuhi mindlessly ranted, unknowingly thinking outloud.

"This is different ! EVerything is going to be just fine, trust me! Ive been at this for two years, so I know a thing or two about how this all works. Yeah the first year can be tough, but nobody is tougher than you, so i'm positive you're gonna do great!" Ranpo declared, trying his best to comfort his dear friend.

"Agh..I guess you are right..Thanks a bunch dude." Atsushi thanked Ranpo, grateful for the praise.

The two acquaintances drove for about ten minutes, talking about whatever young adults do to fill up the already awkwardly set tone. Atsushi decided to not bring up anything containing the spectator that he had only just found out about. It was pretty irrelevant to the current conversation, and it was a pretty big mood killer in the first place.

The associates eventually arrived at the location and parted ways on an acceptable note. After a few hours of classes, Atsushi was mentaly drained, and settled on getting lunch at a nearby cafe to calm down, maybe go over his class notes to double check everything.

_______________________

Atsushi soon found himself sitting in the corner of a cozy little cafe he found nearby the university campus.  His computer opened up on a table, a warm, simple cup of coffee sitting perfectly placed next to it. Some calming jazzy music was being played lightly in the background to complete the scene like a puzzle. This was Atsushi's kind of place, simple, yet perfect in the most complex ways only he could understand. Of course, like he had planned, he started going through all of his notes over again, just to check and make sure nothing was wrong. But in the midst of this check up, his mind started getting side tracked, eventually wandering to a place far away from any original school work.

"I wonder what Akutagawa is doing right now.. In fact..I wonder what he does to pass by the days in general.. He's been around that apartment for so long..He probably gets bored.. I should buy something to help pass the time! Like books or something. " Atsushi wondered more and more about Akutagawa ,growing more and more curious about him. He wanted to know more and more about him. Then, he caught himself in the act.

Immediately upon realizing where his mind was going, Atsuhsi's face faded into a pinkish color, and it was not because of the heat from the coffee. He ...cared about Akutagawa. But why was his question.

"God this is so annoying... Why do I find myself always obsseing over this stupid man.. He's just a ghost. He really doesn't even exist if you think about it! " Atsushi kept internally venting until his head grew a migraine so unbearable he decided to call it a day and just call Ranpo to pick him up early.

As much as he hated to skip classes, he just couldn't stand thinking anymore.

"I hate him but..There's something about him that I just can't quite shake off..His subtle charm.. His distinctive features..His cold..yet understanding conversations.. I don't know what it is exactly but it just makes him want to punch him in the face. But at the same time I wanna-" Atsushi's deepened thought process was once again interfering with the sound of the voice of his friend in the distance, calling him back to reality.

(Sorry this chapter is somehwat short and pretty boring, I really dont know how to progress this kind of story lol)
