Steve's house is huge compared to most others I had seen in Hawkins. It was obvious his parents were wealthy just from the exterior but something in me understood how lonely he must feel with both his parents away all the time. I'm glad that me and Robin could fill some of that loneliness even just partially. The house was pale blue and boasted a triple garage! Inside it was just as nice, Steve's mum must redecorate every year I think to myself as I see how modern and plush the house is.

"Is that a pool?!" I gasp walking into the living room, lined with dual aspect windows as I see a large swimming pool in his back yard.

"Haha yeah it is, but don't get your hopes up Y/N, we're not going in, it's nearly Halloween! It'll be freezing" He chuckles scratching the back of his head.

"Baby" I tease, as I follow Robin further into the kitchen. She opens the fridge, brows furrowed.

"Steve do you even have any food in this house?" She tuts as she opens the door wider to show me it's full to the brim with just beer.

"Oh my god, Steve! Honestly, how do you survive without us?" I laugh grabbing three beers, "I'm assuming these are for drinking right?" I say raising my eyebrow at him.

"Of course" he laughs "gotta have the fridge stocked for guests" he reaches over the counter to grab the bottle I've just opened, taking a gulp, "So, what do you ladies wanna do tonight then?"

"Movies!" Robin squeals swinging her rucksack onto the counter, "I really missed my calling not working at Family Video, my talents are wasted at Scoops Ahoy" She sighs comically, "I've got all three Star wars movies, Raiders of the lost ark... ooo and Fast Times!" she beams, Steve giving her a knowing look. "Oh and if we're interested in anything a bit more seasonal" she lifts her eyebrows, "I've got The Thing, The Evil Dead and Halloween!" she finishes looking at us both excitedly.

"What do you mean wasted at Scoops Ahoy!" Steve faining shock and horror at the idea of them not working as a duo, "Keith would never give me a job at Family Video, not that I know that much about films anyway... I'll watch any of those, you choose Y/N, is pizza okay with everyone?" he shrugs walking back into the TV room with his beer.

"Oh well if I get to pick, let's go for a scary movie marathon. Tis the season for it" I giggle as Robin triumphantly digs out the horror movies.

Pizzas delivered, a couple of beers later and half way through our second movie 'The Thing' we are all strewn across Steve's large L-shaped sofa. I'm in the corner with my legs over Steve's lap while Robin lays with her legs over the back of the seat and her head hanging off the front. Me and Steve shhh her as she starts to talk about the in-camera effects that they are about to use in the defibrillator scene. Looking back at the screen just to wince as it happens.

I look over to see Steve looking a little green in the gills and stifle a laugh. "Have you not seen this film before Steve?" I jest.

"I have, I just forgot about this part" he says looking away as the thing escapes in the form of a human head with spider legs.

"You know it's just melted plastic and microwave bubblegum right?" Robin teases, turning right way up and sitting cross legged on the couch. I smile at the situation I am in, just hanging out with two of the nicest people I've met in any of my high schools. The familiar ominous cloud of potentially moving away again has crept up on me as my smile slightly faulters. Robin notices it however fleeting the look was.

"Hey what's with the glum face Y/N? You feeling sick too?" she asks tilting her head in concern.

"Oh no, I just... I was just thinking about how I've not even known you guys a week and I'm just really happy that I've made friends here so quickly." I look at them both, "Thanks" I smile at them.

"It's not just that thou is it?" Steve adds, he looks hesitant.

"Yeah you always get this glum look in your eyes after a happy moment, like you're stopping yourself from fully enjoying it, what's that about?" Robin asks.

"Well, my dad has been stationed here as extra security at some boring military base just outside of town..." I start explaining about my dad being military and forever having to move around and change schools never being in the same place for longer than six months. "...my last few schools, I just kept my head down, I didn't even try to make friends because I knew I would be leaving again. But then Robin, you approached me in the office and were so welcoming and friendly. I just... I don't want to get my hopes up about Hawkins, don't want to get too attached to what I might not be able to keep" I end with a sniffle, tears threatening to escape my eyes.

"oh Y/N, I didn't know you'd moved that much, that must have been hard." Robin says, wrapping me in a bear hug, beckoning Steve to join. Soon I'm wrapped up in both pairs of arms. Steve then tries to break the tension, "so....ladies, anyone up for spin the bottle" he says while hugging us, drawing back to waggle his eyebrows at us both.

"Urgh Steve" we say in unison, shoving him off the sofa laughing. He bumps onto the floor in a fit of infectious laughter, only to look back up at us with a smile and say, "Worth a try, anyone want another beer?", we both nod as he gets up and heads back into the kitchen.

"I'm adding this as another loss on your scoreboard Harrington!" Robin yells after him. He laughs from the other room as we hear the fridge door open and the clink of glass bottles. Robin looks back at me, a mischievous look in her eyes, "So tell me then Y/N, it must be something more than just mine and Steve's company that's got you all gloomy about potentially having to leave again. Is there someone you've met that might be pulling at those frosty heart strings too?"

"Well yeah, there might be" I smile, looking down a blush finding it's way to my cheeks.

"Don't tell me it's that Billy from the parking lot, he's so self important!" she scoffs.

"Billy! Ergh, No. Never." I shudder at the thought, "The boy's a slime ball, he's hot, I'll give him that, but that personality makes him a 2" Robin laughs in response.

"Yeah from what I've heard about him he's tried and succeeded with a lot of the girls at school, I don't see the appeal either" she remarks. "Well then who do you like?" she asks as Steve enters the room again with beer in hand.

"He's got long-ish brunette hair, these really stunning chocolate brown eyes and the dorkiest smile I've seen in my life" I smile to myself, blush deepening on my cheeks, Steve looking a little smug as he passes out the beers and sits back down "God I really love that smile" I say finally meeting Robin's eyes "Thing is, I've not known him that long so I don't know how he feels about me yet, and we've not spent a whole lot of time together" I look down at my hands "But I'd like to spend some more time with him and find out, I'm just worried about getting too attached and then loosing him." I admit, biting my bottom lip.

"Oh I wouldn't worry about that Y/N, from what I've seen Eddie seems completely smitten with you" She says reassuringly stroking my upper arm.

"Eddie?!" Steve suddenly pipes up, shocked. "Eddie Munson? As in, Eddie 'the freak' Munson? Why? How? Have I just stepped into a parallel universe?" He continues looking around him in drunk confusion.

"Ignore him Y/N, he can't hold his beer. I think you and Eddie are great together. He hasn't treated you badly has he?" She asks.

"Never, he's very sweet once you get to know him, hard on the outside, soft on the inside" I remark smiling to myself.

"I just can't believe it's Eddie Munson" Steve murmurs to himself in the background, Robin launching a pillow at his head in response.

"Oh get over it Steve!" she jabs "Not every girl on the planet is smitten over you! Read the room" He looks up mocking offense at the thought of women not swooning over him, she then turns her attention back to me, "You should hang out with Eddie some more, even if it doesn't go anywhere romantic, at least you'll know". I nod in agreement as we turn to set up the third scary movie of the night.

Robin and me decide to stay the night as we have all been drinking. After a quick phone call to my dad, Steve sets us all up with blankets and all three of us end up sleeping on the sofa, falling asleep midway through our fourth movie; Raider of the Lost Ark.
