Chapter 27 - Coffee?

Eddie POV

We'd been at the lake for hours, the sunset lit up the sky with warm hues. Y/N was standing, still wrapped up in a blanket staring out at the lake looking contented. I came up behind her, wrapping her up in my arms and lazily laying my head on her shoulder. She blushed, pressing back into my chest. Is this heaven? I thought to myself as I gave her alittle squeeze.

"Come on, let's head back before your dad sends out a search party" I joked, leaving one arm around her shoulders as I lead us back to the van.

"I'd like you to meet him" She said, while she hopped in, turning back to the open door to look me in the eye, "Officially, I mean....you know, as my boyfriend?" I froze, shocked. I never really thought anyone would be so happy to show me off like that. But the smile on her face was so genuine, so happy and hopeful. I made her smile like that. I thought as a blush grew on my cheeks. Wow, she was just...wow. My brain finally made contact with my body, urging to say or do anything other than blush like a fool in the open doorway.

"errr" is all I managed to get out before her melodic laugh sounded. She cupped my face and leant in to give me a soft, loving kiss on the lips. She looked deep into my eyes like she understood I was short circuiting on the inside.

"Just think about it, okay?" She teased, "He's a teddy bear really, I promise" I managed a smile, pecking her back before I headed to the driver's side and we set off.

We sat outside Y/N's house for a while. Neither of us really wanted to leave. I would have been content to sit here all night with her talking. Girlfriend. She's my girlfriend. I reminded myself again and again in my head. As disbelief clouded every thought I had. Was I in shock? She asked me to be her boyfriend.

"Well... I should probably head in soon" She admitted, "I think my dad's been staring at us out the window for long enough, he might decide to come out here soon" she laughed. I whipped my head towards the house to see him standing there. Not hiding his surveillance at all. He wanted me to know he could see us. I gulped.

"Are you sure he's a teddy bear?" I asked with a nervous laugh.

"Of course he is" she laughed, "Don't worry about him" she stroked my arm, bringing my attention back round to her. "You still okay to take me to the station tomorrow?"

"Always" I cupped her jaw, looking deep into her eyes, "I'll be there every step of the way, I promise, Sweetheart" I pulled her forward and planted a kiss on her forehead.

"Thank you" She whispered, tilting her head up to place a chaste kiss to my mouth before gathering her things. "I'm borrowing this" she smiled, raising the blanket she'd been cuddled up in the whole day.

"It's yours now Sweetheart" I chuckled, waving her off and watching her into the house.

"Until the morning, Fan boy" she called back, blowing me a kiss from the door and waving. I caught the kiss and held in to the my chest.

"Until then" I called back with a cheesy grin.

Y/N POV

I heard Eddie drive off behind me as I turned to open the door. My dad was already standing there, smiling. "I take it the stupid boy has been forgiven?" he chuckled as he swung the door open wider for me to enter. I laughed. "Good, he was my favourite out of the two of them" he nodded with a smirk, closing the door.

"There was never really much competition between them" I admitted to him, throwing myself on to the couch as my dad settled in the arm chair. "How was work?"
