Eddie POV

Relief.

I was so relieved that Y/N was okay. Seemingly unscathed from the ordeal of the night before.

All my fault.

If I had just gotten my act together and got there earlier, this wouldn't of happened... she would of never been alone.

She didn't blame me...of course she didn't. But that wouldn't stop me blaming myself. As much as I wanted her words to take away the guilt, my mind still felt heavy with the knowledge that I could of stopped this. Stopped him.

I'm just glad it wasn't any worse... If he had...I don't even want to think about it. If he had hurt her, I would have been following my dad's footsteps and ended up on the bad side of our town's police chief. I shuddered at the thought, haunted by the fear of that man. I never want to be like him.

A gentle touch to my arm brought me back to the present, Y/N looking up at me through her lashes, concern furrowing her brows. You okay? she mouthed silently as her thumb gently stroked my arm.

After breakfast we had all lazed about in Harrington's game's room, pfft of course he has a games room. The other two were busy rifling through VHSs when my mind had wandered. I reached out to cup Y/N's face, returning her thumbed strokes with a smile and a reassuring nod. She practically melted at my touch, pressing her soft cheek into my palm.

"Please spare me" Steve groaned from across the room, still hungover from the night before, "I'm already nauseous, let's not make it worse"

"Pfft" Robin burst, taking in Steve's disgruntled appearance, "Oh come on Steve, let them be. You made him sleep outside after all" she teased.

Y/N huffed at Steve, Huffed! Ha! Take that Harrington, she wants me here. But he had extended the welcome after his spat with Y/N this morning, and I somehow had the rest of the weekend to make it up to her, to all of them really, for last night's disaster.

I raised my free arm suggestively, inviting Y/N to snuggle into my side on the sofa. God, she fit so perfectly there, not an ounce of apprehension in her as she relaxed against me, her palm reaching across herself to the stroke the arm I now lay in the crook of her waist.

Bliss.

I was lost in that thought, about how lucky I was to have her here beside me. When I felt her head tilt up at me, I could feel her eyes on me before I looked down. They crinkled at the brim with amusement as she looked me up and down. "you dressed as a pirate" she smirked as she reached a hand out to stroke down the costume I had liberated from the drama department.

"A rogue" I crooned, a smirk plastering my face as something flirtatious flashed in her eyes, she shuffled to sit up, leaning closer to me, eyes drifting down to my lips.

"Scoundrel" she breathed as my mouth mirrored hers and we kissed, both smiling into it. My arm, still around her waist gently pulled her in to me as my free hand went up to cup her cheek. There had been sparks every time we kissed and this was no exception. It was electric, like the bass that thrums through you at a great concert. Intoxicating, I never wanted to her to leave my embrace.

We were separated, far too early, when a pillow smacked me square in the side of the head. I didn't turn away, just grumbled, continuing to kiss Y/N as I flipped the bird in the general direction the assault had hailed from. But when the second pillow hit her, and she yelped springing away from the kiss to grab the pillow and launch it back at Robin's amused face that's when I knew the moment had passed.

Hanging out with this group, it wasn't so bad. It was fairly relaxed aside from a couple of sideways glances from Harrington. He truly was like a mother hen over his female friends. Y/N had snuggled back into my side, my arm now rested on the back of the couch cushions and not in the crook of her waist as I willed my stupid teenage boy body not to stiffen at the soft touch of her pressed against my side. Robin had put on some horror movie, laced with jump scares. The kind of film you watch when you want your girlfriend to grab for you in the cinema for safety.
