The rest of my first week blurs, I split my lunch times between geeking out with the Hell Fire Club and sitting with Robin, Steve and the band lot. Eddie has been trying to convince me to come and join his band; Corroded Coffin.

"They sound cool Eddie... But, I don't know how long me and my dad are going to be here so I really don't think I can join" I say, willing him to stop asking me as he walks me to the bus stop after school. He keeps offering me a lift back, and I'd love to spend more time with him but the more I think about it the sadder I get, knowing my dad will just move us when I start to be happy here. I've been trying to build distance between us since I started to fall for that smile of his.

"Oh come on Y/N, just one rehearsal, please!" He drops to his knees dramatically pleading with his ring adorned hands clasped together in front of him.

"Get up!" I say, turning bright red as most of the parking lot turn to watch his show. "Eddie I'm serious..." I start again looking down at him. His best puppy dog eyes peeking up at me from his overgrown bangs, I stifle a laugh as he literally starts to make mock puppy whimpers at me. All while laughing and comically scootching forward on his knees to follow me as I retreat from him as laughs start to escape me. "You're such a dork! Stop it, get up!" I chuckle with a lighter tone as his antics have started to defrost my defensive walls.

"Not until you agree to come to the rehearsal" he says, dropping his pleading hands down to his sides and looking up at me a smile on his face.

I look up hearing my school bus approaching, looking back at him before I say; "I'll think about it," a smile teasing my lips as I turn and run for the bus, escaping before he can pull me back into his one man show. I sit by the window, and mock devil horns at him sticking my tongue out as he waves me off, adoration in his eyes. I'm really in trouble with this boy, aren't I? I think to myself, a stupid smile on my face as the bus drives away. Yep, definitely in trouble.

I'm still thinking about that encounter the next morning, Saturday, as I make my way to the Star Court to meet Robin and Steve. Their shift isn't over for a couple of hours but I head in early to grab a couple bits so I'm not dragging them around the stores after work. Although the thought of the two of them having to walk round with me in those sailor outfits does make me laugh.

I decide to drop in and say hi before moving on to the shops. Approaching, I spot Steve putting on his best flirty smile with customers. Trying and failing to obtain a date on what looks like his sixth attempt of the day if the tally on Robin's whiteboard is anything to go by. I get in line, a group of kids join behind me as I approach the counter. Steve has his back turned to the counter, "Put that board away will you Robin, you're ruining my charm!" he warns her playfully, pulling off his little sailor hat and ruffling his hair, as he starts towards me; "Ahoy there pretty lady, would you like to set sail on thisss...occea" his eyes widen, "Y/N Hi!" he splutters "Sorry I didn't see it was you, you're early? Our shift doesn't end for a couple hours".

"I know, thought I'd come grab a cone and browse some shops before we meet up later" I say smiling at his flustered face.

"That makes you nil for 7 Harrington" Robin pipes up from behind, adding another tally to the board.

"Wait no fair!" he whines, "I didn't know Y/N was there, it shouldn't count!"

"Why do you think she's not worth a date?" she teases sarcastically, causing Steve's blush to darken as he closes the partition to the back of the shop on Robin.

"Hey Steve!" A gangly brunette boy shouts from behind me, shifting everyone's focus. "Not to disturb you or anything but we're kind of in a rush here" he says leaning around me to get Steve's attention.

"Again?" He questions, clearly being put out by this group of kids who all nod in unison. "Gah! Fine, but don't push your luck Wheeler!" he addresses the gangly boy before leading the group of 5 kids through to the back of the shop before reappearing without them moments later.

"What was that?" I question amused.

"Oh that?" he motions behind him, "was Nancy's little brother and co sneaking into the cinema for the 2nd time this week to see Ghostbusters" He rolls his eyes. Before getting back to his job "What flavour can I get you little miss?" He says trying and failing to twirl his ice cream scoop in his hand.

"Mint choc chip, always" I smile as he hands me my ice cream.

"On the house" he winks, and I perk up.

"Thanks Harrington, I'll meet you guys later" I smile, before cheers-ing my cone in the air to him and walking off to explore the mall. Thinking to myself that if I got to stay here, Steve and Robin could turn out to be some of the closest friends I've ever made.

I only really wanted to pick up a couple of things while I was here. I headed straight for a charity shop in the bottom corner of the mall. If you know the right place to rummage they always have the best jeans. I'm in desperate need of a few new pairs as I have a bad habit of ripping the inner thigh of mine. I find a few good pairs, paying for them happily before moving on to a record store on the upper level. Eager to get the new Iron Maiden album "Power slave" I rifle through the vinyl to find a copy, smiling happily when I lift it up. I also pick up some new guitar picks and a Dio poster for The Last In Line. Smiling to myself thinking about that first meeting with Eddie in the music room.

Happy with my purchases I stroll back down to Scoops Ahoy where yet another child, this time a curly haired shorter boy, is approaching Steve. I chuckle to myself as Steve runs out from the back room to greet this one with glee, mock lightsaber fighting with him before embracing him in a bear hug.

"Henderson!" He beams, as Robin looks on smirking as she interjects "How many children are you friends with?" to which Steve ignores her, pulling the kid into a headlock and ruffling his curly locks. "Dustin how was camp! Tell me everything!" he asks excitedly towing him away as I approach.

"Shift nearly over?" I ask Robin as I watch Steve sit down at a booth with Dustin.

"Thankfully, yes. 20 more minutes and then we are shutting up shop" she says slapping the top of the till like it's 'old reliable'. "Get anything good?" She says mock nosing in my bags.

"Oh just some jeans and a record" I say shrugging it off, "Shall I meet you guys outside or just wait around here?".

"Just grab a seat, we won't be too long" she gestures to a booth, "Oi! Harrington" she yells over to him, his ears pricking at the sound of his name. "Come on sailor boy, start mopping the deck, I'm not closing shop on my own for your reunion" she yells, Steve rolls his eyes, before getting up and coming back over to help clean up before close.

After about half an hour, Steve and Robin appear in their civilian clothes and approach me. "Hey Y/N, Steve's parents are out of town so we thought we could all go hang out at his house tonight? Cool with you?" Robin asks tilting her head.

"Yeah sure, is there room for me in your car, I got the bus here" I add, while collecting my stuff.

"Of course, plenty of room for my ladies" Steve says slinging his arms over our shoulders and walking us out of the food court. We both shrug off his arms and walk on in front of him, looping our own arms together before Robin turns around, sticking her tongue out at a now lonely Steve.
