Despite my previous reservations about intruding in on Eddie's territory I decided to go to the campaign on Sunday. I had spent my evening the night before finishing my Hell Fire shirt and was excited to show the guys what I had done. I had tye dyed the shirt with red and black before painting on the signature stencils. I hope they like what I did. I know it's a little different to the norm. Although I had resolved to come, I couldn't help but feel little pangs of anxiety about the potentially awkward situation I was about to trap myself in.
"Hey Y/N!" Jeff greets me, bounding over for a hug, before pulling back and looking at my shirt. "Woah! This looks sick! Did you dye it yourself?"
"Yeah!" I blush slightly, "You guys like it? It's not too much?"
"Are you kidding? That looks great!" Grant joins in. "Do you think you could dye some others like that for us?" He asks hopefully.
"Sure! Can't see why not. Glad you guys like them." I smile down at my shirt, happy that they liked my work.
"Oh hey... where's Eddie?" Gareth chimes in. "I thought he was giving you a lift?"
"Oh...erm" He must not of told the guys we had a fight. "No, my dad gave me a lift"
"Eddie's not coming today" Ged states nonchalantly while he continues to set up the minis.
"WHAT?" we all gawk in unison.
"He called me last night....said he wasn't feeling good" he shrugs.
"He NEVER misses Hell Fire!" protests Gareth "Remember guys? When he had appendicitis and he waited till the end of the campaign to go to the hospital"
"Yeah that was very metal of him" Grant agrees.
"I don't know what to tell you guys, he said he needed a day off, I didn't push him about it" Ged sits down on the thrown motioning us all forward to our spots around the table "Come on, gather round, I've got a good one planned for today" He grins impishly, I don't let my eyes meet his, something feels off. It's my fault he's not here.

"Are you sure you want to do that Ariadne?" Ged questions from behind the DM screen, eyebrow raised as he eyes me suggestively.
"Why? Scared my Eldritch Blast might decimate your minions?" I sneer in character. He laughs only adding to my mock fury. Without our Bard to help heal us Ged's campaign had nearly completely wiped out our guild. Without Eddie, we were struggling.
"What's your spell save DC*?"
*Short for Spell Save Difficulty Class, a Spell Save DC is the total number that a creature must roll in order to mitigate the effects of a given spell
"Seventeen" I hear his dice skitter across the table behind the screen and an audible sigh before he looks back up.
"They roll a twelve and a fifteen, roll your damage Warlock. Who are you aiming for first?"
"I'll go for the big guy first." I grin pointing at his minotaur henchman who stands closest to me. "What's his armour class?"
"Eighteen, you must roll a nineteen or higher to cause damage" he smirks, "Hope you have a good proficiency bonus" I audibly scoff, sending Ged's face Scarlett red.
"Well..." I drawl "As I am a level 18 Mage not only can I hit him with one beam, but four... if I so wish"
"Oh damn" Grant whispers under his breathe from the side. "She's got you now goldilocks" He chuckles earning him a death glare from the DM.
