"The choice is yours, Clarke.. . " I thought. "You can end this anytime... "
I repeated the same words to myself again.
I was completely on the edge now, more tears streaming down my cheeks. However, these weren't tears of sadness... No, quite the opposite.
I looked again at this beautiful sight. Once again I felt the wind in my hair. I closed my eyes and was about to break the chains still holding me, when suddenly I heard someone's voice.
"Don't do this. " I suddenly opened my eyes and turned to the direction it came from. "Clarke, please. " Brunet added. It was Bellamy.
"How did you get here? " I asked surprised.
"Doesn't matter. " He came closer.
"Stop! " I shouted and forbade him to go any further. "Stay back and answer! "
"Okay..." He raised his hands up. "I won't come closer..." He added hesitantly and lowered his hands. "How did I get here? " Repeated my question. "Maybe I'm here for the same reason as you." He said looking into my eyes.
Only now did I notice that he had even more bruises and scrapes on her face. He looked like he had been run over by a bus or two.
"I'm here..." He walked over to one of the boxes on the roof, put his foot on it and leaned against it to look ahead. "Because I also wondered about the same thing as you. Should I end up like that boy... Or maybe not. " He looked at me again. "We're both here because we're sick of the lives we lead. "
"You don't know what I think..." I whispered and peeked over the edge of the chasm, and then back at brunet.
"I know. " Boy said. "I know, and maybe even better than you think. I left the house today... " He looked ahead again. "I went out for a walk... But I knew perfectly well where I wanted to go... Walking here, I looked upstairs and saw you standing on the edge of the roof. You were drawn here for a reason. " Said and I knew he was right. "I want to end this life too, Clarke. I'm fed up with the constant bad luck that has haunted me for as long as I can remember. "
"What happened? " I asked finally and pointed to the wounds on his face. "Tell the truth. "
"I got run over by a bus. " He threw up his arms.
"Probably at least two. " I added.
"One and half. "He corrected me and I smiled a little after all.
"And... Really? What happener? " I looked him in the eyes. "Murphy was at my place yesterday..." I added hesitantly.
Man straightened at the words. He sighed heavily.
"Would you let me just come over and have a look?" He asked and pointed to the edge of the roof.
I nodded hesitantly and Blake stood two meters next to me, looked down and then straight ahead.
"Until I got on the roof, I was sure I would jump off it..." He said.
"You changed your mind? " I asked hesitantly and looked at him.
"Yes. " Replied and looked at me as well.
"Why? "
"I realized that there's one and only person in the world who sincerely loves me and needs me. " He said. "My mom ... I realized that after all, I couldn't leave her. Until she's safe, there's nothing I can do. "
"Until she's safe? " I repeated his words.
"You're not the only one who can't handle life, Clarke. " He said and looked at me again. "That's..." He pointed to his wounds. "That was made by a bus named Gale... "
