When we went back to school after the holidays, we had a terrible head break so Bellamy and I didn't have much time to meet after school and talk. The only time we spent together was during breaks or combined lessons and during phone calls. We got even closer to each other, and right now I got lost in my feelings. He was very close to me. Like a friend? Or maybe even someone... More? However, I hesitated because of my bad experiences with other people, and besides... Bellamy saw me as just a friend. He's said this more than once when I accidentally heard him talk to Murphy: "She's just a friend," he said.

That's why I suppressed the feelings that were growing inside me. He wanted to protect me from his father, and likewise I was another reason he fought for his survival. However, all this was simply... Friendship. Nothing else. Unfortunately...

Meh, life is despicable. What if one day I really fall in love with him...? And what's worse, he'll never reciprocate those feelings?

Love... It appears and disappears at the least expected moment.

Well, I could've had a lot of trouble with it, but Octavia on the contrary. She and Lincoln officially became a couple. They were truly made for each other, they complemented and understood each other perfectly. I was afraid that because Octavia had a boyfriend, she would completely forget about me, but fortunately it didn't happen. We can say that we have become even more close to each other.

Today is Friday. Half of the lesson had already passed, and I had had enough. It was a really tiring week filled with tests and cards. Looking at myself in the mirror, I saw zombies, literally. I spent my nights studying because I didn't do it during the day. Added to this was insomnia.

Let this week finally be over!

Octavia and I were sitting outside the classroom talking about some stupidity when my phone suddenly vibrated. I looked at the display and was a little surprised.

"Who is it? " Octavia asked curiously when she saw my expression.

"Raven's mom. " I replied looking at my friend, and after a while I answered the phone. "Hello? "

"Clarke? " Female voice said.

"Yes, Mrs. Reyes. " I nodded. "Something happened? " I asked a little more worried.

"Unfortunately, yes... " Woman replied sadly. "Raven is in the hospital. "

"What?! "I got up on my feet, and Octavia joined me. "How's that? What happened? "

"What's going on? " Friend asked.

"Raven is in the hospital..." I told her, and went back to talking to Mrs. Reyes.

"Clarke, you know that Raven has complained of frequent headaches more than once, right? "

"Yes... "

"She was diagnosed with a brain tumor. " Woman sobbed. "It's not good... "

When I heard these words, tears began to gather in my eyes.

"H-how much? " I asked uncertainly.

"Very... Doctors say that the tumor grows very quickly and don't give her great chances... " Woman cried.

I covered my mouth with my hand, and a single tear ran down my cheek.

"Clarke, what's going on? " Octavia asked.

"In which hospital? " I asked Raven's mom, and when she told me I took my friend by the hand and explained everything to her along the way.

We quit our tutor and went to the hospital where Raven was located as soon as possible.

In front of the room indicated by the receptionist there was Raven's mom and dad.

"What about her? " Octavia asked right away.

"She's asleep now." Girl's dad replied, pointing to the room.

There was a glass in the wall so you could clearly see Raven sleeping in bed.

After a few minutes, my mother appeared next to us.

"Mom." I approached the woman. "What about Raven? What are you going to do? You're going to cure her, right? " I asked with tears in my eyes.

"Honey, it's not that simple. " Woman replied sadly. "The tumor grows very quickly... "

"So cut it out. " Octavia interjected.

"We'll do it, of course. " Woman said.

"So what's the problem? " My friend asked.

"That... That the operation costs. " Replied sadly. "If it were up to me, you wouldn't have to pay for me, because we're friends... But it's not me who is in charge here and I'll not carry out this operation, but only assist. " She said looking at Raven's parents.

"How much does the operation cost? " Mrs. Reyes asked.

Octavia and I went into the room where Raven was lying. We sat on either side of the bed and took my friend by the hands.

I was pretty jittery, and so was Octavia. Our friend was dying...

We'll do our best to help her but... Right now, our greatest enemy is time. We have very little of it, and there's a lot of money to collect.

However, we must not give up and lose hope.

"Octavia..." Raven whispered as she woke up. "Clarke... Nice to see you girls. "

"You too. " Octavia smiled.

"So you already know...? " Girl asked.

"Yes, we know. " I replied. "You'll be fine, you'll see. " I said surely.

"Don't believe in impossible, Griffin. "Raven said sadly.

"And you don't lose hope, Reyes. " I said.

"We won't let you die. " Octavia interjected. "Don't even think about it. "

We sat next to a friend and tried to comfort her at least a little. However, it was quite difficult, because we could barely cope on our own.

After a few minutes, my cell cell vibrated again. So I apologized to friends and stepped aside.

"Hello" I spoke first.

"Hey, princess. " Blake said. "Supposedly, you ran away from school today." He said with a slight amusement. "You're surprising me more and more, Griffin. "

"I'll surprise you more than once. " I replied. " But for the sake of accuracy, I didn't run away from school. I told the teacher it was urgent. Together with Octavia."

"Something happened? " Boy asked. "You have a strange voice. Where are you? "

"In the hospital... "

"What? What happened? Are you okay? " He asked.

"I'm fine. " I replied and looked at my friends talking to each other.

"Okay, because now I'm really starting to worry. What's going on? "

"This is not for a phone call..." I said, and quickly shed my tears.

"Okay then... So should I visit you in the evening? "

"And your father? " I was worried.

"Don't worry, I'll come up with something." Boy replied.

"Okay, but... "

"I'll be careful, don't worry. But before I hang up... "

"Yes? "

"Give me a word that you're okay. " Blake said, to which I smiled slightly.

"I'm fine. " I replied.

"I'll be in the evening, princess. " He said after a while.

"Okay." I replied, and went back to my friends.
