Steve was never the type of person to be interested in smoking. It disgusted him. Whenever he caught Eddie smoking he just tried his best to ignore it. To him, smoking was just an easy way to throw your life out the window. Yet despite his negative opinions on it, nothing stopped him from picking up the 'disgusting' habit after the death of his boyfriend.
Steve didn't handle Eddie's death well. Anyone would be shocked if he did. He loved Eddie so much and it was so painfully obvious to everyone who were around them. After the funeral, he was so broken he couldn't do anything. He didn't go to work, didn't try to see anyone, he just sat in Eddie's room in his trailer. Wayne was never there anyway to notice, the man was grieving in his own way.
Every night when Steve was in Eddies trailer he would find a different thing that would remind him of Eddie. It started off with his Hellfire t-shirt and then to some rings. One night it was Eddies drugs. Before then, Steve smoked tobacco but now he'd smoke whatever he'd pick up from Eddies box. It helped him, cleared his mind, put him at ease.
