I knock on Ian's open door. "Hey." He looks up from his computer and smiles.
"Court Bourt, come on in." I swing around the door frame and plop down on his bright yellow couch. I wish he would let me decorate his office properly. Other than his giant movie poster, it's still empty in here aside from the copious amounts of empty My Favourite Coffee bags.
"Just came in to let you know that I'm here." He nods. "And, I have another appointment on Thursday next week. Is that okay?" I ask, cocking my head to the side.
"You never need to ask if it's okay to take care of yourself, Court. Luckily we don't have a finalised schedule for next week yet, so I'll make sure to note that. What time is your appointment?" He pulls something up on his computer, the schedule I'm guessing.
"Afternoon, I'll need to be out of here by 1:30." He nods and types out a note. "Thank you." He props his chin up on his hands.
"No worries. You've probably had about half a dozen people say this today, but let me know if there's anything I can do." I laugh at the accuracy of his statement. I don't mind the reassurance, it makes me feel safe. "Everything is set up for you to film your stuff by the way. Noah, Shayne and Amanda already did theirs this morning. It's lucky you're not actually in any scenes with them."
"Cool. I will go do that." I stand up, feeling better than I did when I got here.
"Oh, and the writers wanted me to let you know that they don't need you today, that's been moved to Friday." I stop in the doorway and look back at him.
"They say why?" If I don't have to meet with them, I can be out of here after I finish filming. I'd never pass up going home early.
"Something about writer's block. I stopped listening after they said 'move it to Friday'. They caught me at a bad time, I was in the middle of making coffee." I laugh at him.
"Thank you, Ian." His eyes crinkle into a smile that I will never get tired of. In our last few months at Defy it disappeared and it was tragic. It didn't come back until we were acquired by Mythical, I can remember the day perfectly. We've always been like siblings, but that whole experience really brought us together.
It brought all of us closer.

"And cut." Kimmy says from behind camera. "Thanks Court." She smiles as she walks up to me. "You did so good~." She says in a goofy voice.
"Thank you, Kimmy~." I match her goofiness, making us both break out in laughter. "Having fun as director?" One of the best things about Mythical is that we're all allowed to write and direct.
"Yesssss. Took a bit to get used to it, but it's so fun. Sorry that you got stuck with no scenes with the others. I know you like bouncing off of them." The whole premise of video is that I got shrunk. All my scenes were done in front of a green screen.
"Nah, all good. It was fun, I like trying new things." I wrap my arm around her shoulder. "How'd everyone else go with filming this morning? Sorry I was in late, had... important things to do." I'm not trying to hide where I was, but I'm also not jumping at the idea of telling everyone that I went to therapy this morning.
"Amanda kept making Shayne and Noah break, the tall queen humour was too much for them. Other than them breaking every other minute, it was pretty smooth sailing." I smile at the visual, the last time I had scenes with Amanda I also couldn't keep a straight face. "Honestly, it's probably better that you weren't here, you would have cracked up with them. Even us behind the camera kept laughing."
