Something was off.
Lloyd felt it in his stomach as he walked into his mansion, Addison quickly departing his side and moving towards the library, shutting the door behind her. A faint smile ghosted over his lips, before he reached for the gun he had tucked in the table by the front door. "Get the screens up, check the perimeter." A simple command that had his entire team instantly moving on their feet. Suzanne was behind Lloyd, his arm extended to shield her away from any stray bullet that might graze her, her fingers wrapped around his forearm. "Lloyd, if they know we have her working with us,"
"She's a target I know Suzanne."
Heavy silence filled the space as they moved into his office, eyes glued to the wall of screens that lay before him. "Alpha and Beta teams?" Lloyd questioned, flickering his eyes over to the door of the library, letting out a gentle breath when he saw a shadow move below the door, she was safe for now. "Clear, nothing out of the ordinary on this side," a member replied, before the line quickly went dead, Lloyd's head snapping back towards the screens. "What happened, where'd he go?" A quick question he knew had no answer, heart pounding loudly in his ears as he stalked over to the computers, both drives in his pocket, a stark reminder of what lay before him. "We lost contact."
"Well get it back up."
"Unknown vehicle, approaching in thirty seconds and not slowing." Alpha's team leader called through the comms, panic lacing his words as gunfire went off. "They know she's here!" The static sound of a voice filled the room, Lloyd immediately rushing over to the library door, jiggling the knob, cursing under his breath when the door wouldn't budge. "Addison," he screamed, slamming his palm into the wood several times, before shouldering the door, trying to get it off its hinges when she wouldn't reply, "Addison please!" Suzanne yelled, running over to help Lloyd with the door. It was a failure, the doors wasn't budging, someone had blocked off the entrance.
The only other way into the library was through the windows.
"Get me team seven," Lloyd commanded, flinching when a crash came out of the library, his fingers curling into his palms, blunt nails digging into the skin, "no one goes anywhere until we know that Addison is safe, how did you all miss this?" Lloyd's tongue was pure venom as his spat his words towards the employees, "who the fuck are they?" He added, sitting down in his chair as the lights crackled, the power surging before giving out.
"Lock down the house, no one is coming or going until she's out of that room and these bastards lay at our feet, get the generator running."
Suzanne moved to lock the doors to the office, pulling the shades over the windows and grabbing the guns out of the safe, handing one to Lloyd. "She's an agent right, she'll be okay. She worked with six, if it's his men then maybe they'll have a soft spot for her." Suzanne rambled, pausing when Lloyd shot her a glare. "She's unarmed, if whoever in there with her is carrying a gun, she'll be toast."
Lloyd rubbed his thumb against his sternum in a weak attempt to calm his heart, if he was expecting an ambush he wouldn't of come back, not unprepared at least. His mind was flickering through a list of possible threats, and while she had gotten into it with six, he usually worked alone. This wasn't an act by him, not with this many separate attacks, he leaves no trail, and working with others always resulted in a trail. "This isn't six," Lloyd spoke his thoughts aloud, gaining the attention of everyone else in the room, his fingers tapping deliberately against his chin, "this is Carmichael."
"Denny wouldn't-" Suzanne paused when Lloyd pulled out two USB drives, "he would if he knew what she took."
