Three Weeks Later
"We have a hit!"
Addison looked up from the desk, turning her attention to Suzanne who's eyes were set on the screen, "Bucharest, two minutes ago."
"Romania?" Addison questioned, looking back down at the file Lloyd had handed her this morning. When the news of Denny's arrest hit airways the phones for Hansen Industries started going off nonstop, and three weeks later they have yet to slow. The target they were chasing down was one of Dennys associates, using government funds to support trafficking rings, and Addison couldn't wait to get him off he streets. "That would make sense, he fled the United Kingdom two days ago, keep eyes on him, I'm gonna dispatch Alpha team."
Addison rose from her seat, Lloyd had set up an office for her tracing team in the library, across from his office. He relented when she kept pestering him, she wanted to help, and by the amount of paperwork that had accumulated on his desk from the months they were dealing with Denny, he was in no position to deny the help. Her bare feet moved against the tile, pushing open the door into the hallway, Lloyd's voice echoing in the space. He was screaming at Forrest, and Addison laughed slightly, the poor man didn't need to deal with Lloyds wrath.
Pushing the door in, Addison silently slipped into the room watching as Lloyd's eyes stayed on the wall of screens. "Bear," his shoulders dropped as he set his whiskey down, opening his arms for his girlfriend, her feet carrying her over to him and sinking down into his lap, legs straddling his waist, "we have a hit, Bucharest, twenty minutes ago, ready to send Alpha team when you decide to make the call."
Lloyds arms snaked around Addison's waist, pressing his forehead to her shoulder while she ran her fingers through his cropped hair. "Are you dispatching with them?" Lloyd asked, his breath tickling her throat when he spoke, lips pressing to the pulse point, "because I'd really like it if we sent Court out as mission lead, he'll just stay in the van commanding them, they've been training under him for over a week, he talked to me earlier about how he wants to see them in the field."
"Lloyd," Addison laughed, pressing her lips to the top of his head, "just tell me you want me to stay and I will."
Lloyds arms tightened around Addisons middle, eyes closing as he took in the scent of tangerine on her skin. Her body wash that he couldn't get enough of, the scent immediately calming him when she walks into the room. She had become his safety, when he got too overwhelmed with how much work he had to catch up with, Addison would whisk into the room, delegate the work between her, Suzanne, and Nicole allowing Lloyd just a moment of peace. Something he was slowly adjusting to. "Please stay sunshine," his hands slipped up the back of her shirt, palms splaying across her spine, "I was gone for a week, I need you with me."
Addison smiled, leaning down to press a kiss to the back of Lloyd's neck, his body shuddered under her touch and made her own skin goosebump. This was the Lloyd she had missed from all those years ago, the one who loved her and needed her to survive. And after getting rid of Denny, this was the version that she got to keep. He was not going to leave her, and with that knowledge Addison was no longer afraid to keep her guard down around him. Lloyd had proven how much he loved her in the three weeks she had officially called Croatia her home.
The first room he redid was the library, completely restructuring the room so Addison could have her office in the room she adored the most. He bought new books, a brand new computer system, there was new couches brought in, a restructured fireplace, and Addison's personal favorite was the bean bag chairs he added for her to curl into and read while she waited for him to come get her for bed. After that room was done, it was little touches that Addison told the interior designers to fix, she knew Lloyd had brought other women into this home, and she wanted all those memories gone to be replaced with new memories they were creating.
