Morning came with a blink of sleep.
Lloyd sighed as his hand came up to wipe his eyes, Addison still sleeping soundly on his chest. She was peaceful, her fingers latched around the necklace he always wore, keeping her close to his warmth. His hand came up to rub her arm gently, soft skin under calloused hands a welcome feeling. She was safe, in his guarded mansion maybe not, his team had failed to alert her to the danger that lurked just outside the tree line. But here in his king bed, soft sheets, against his body, she was the safest he could keep her. And he knew she understood that, because if she didn't, she wouldn't be asleep right now, wouldn't be plastered to his side, she wouldn't be his.
Because she was his, she was just not wanting to admit it.
"Mr. Hansen," Nicole knocked three times softly on the white wooden door, his eyes sliding up from his girl on his chest, to the strawberry blonde walking into the room slowly, "we've located Denny, team was dispatched last night at three am," the soft click of the door resounded around the room, Nicole's voice barely a whisper when she saw Addison sleeping still, "he's in your office sir."
Lloyd nodded, plastering on his smile, eyes crinkling in the corner and mustache twitching, "thank you Nicole, please let him know I'll be down shortly, just going to put on some more appropriate clothing." By more appropriate, he meant something more than just his boxers, he wanted Denny to see the claw marks on his chest, to know that Addison was his, that he gave her pleasure, and safety, and satisfaction. He was going to know that Lloyd was serious when it came to his girl, Denny had sabotaged enough of her life, if Lloyd didn't step in, who know's what would happen.
"Yes sir," Nicole moved to the door quickly, only pausing when Lloyd cleared his throat, "send Suzanne up, we're in no rush to be done with this, when Addison wakes up Suzanne can fill her in." Lloyd sat up, Addison's hand slipping from the necklace to his lap, a stuttered breath leaving her lips from the quick action, "you're okay sunshine," he pushed some of her hair off her forehead, looking up at Nicole once more, "go."
Nicole wasted no time, immediately leaving the room.
Lloyd switched his body out of Addison's grip for his pillow, smiling as she nuzzled further into it, before walking into his closet. His classic white trousers hung pressed against the wall, his hands gripped the fabric, pulling them up his hips and sighing softly. All he waned to do was lay in bed with Addison, to nurse her back to her full health. Because now it wasn't just physically that she was fracturing, her mind was deceiving her, convincing her that she wasn't that great of an agent. Even if that was the biggest lie he's ever heard. Denny had slowly made her believe that everything she's ever done for the agency meant nothing, and well, like Lloyd thought before, what kind of man was he if he let her believe that.
Lloyd jumped when he exited the closet, Suzanne sitting on the bed next to Addison, stroking her hair softly.
"Bring her downstairs when she wakes up," Lloyd hardly looked at the pair as he slipped on his loafers, working on his hair in the full body mirror. Red marks ran down his chest, disappearing under his waist band, the necklace hanging like a prize in between his pecks, "I want to check her injuries, there's a button up laying on the chair in the closet," he hooked a thumb over his shoulder when Suzanne nodded, her eyes following his pointing. "Were taking a break from the Six mission, he helped her, maybe instead of working against him, we can figure out what the fuck is on that drive and help him, but until she's in full condition to work, we're not going to do shit, am I clear?"
"Yes sir."
Lloyd slipped out his room after that, ignoring the ache in his chest to go back and curl around his sunshine, to bask in her warmth. He could hear Denny snapping at Lloyd's employees, demanding answers, trying to get information out of them about the location of Six. Denny chose to irritate Lloyd, he chose to open his mouth, attack the love of his life, and then come into his home and act like he owns it. With a deep breath Lloyd descended the stairs, pushing the doors into his office open with a loud bang, successfully silencing the room. "Denny boy, I don't remember giving you the authority to talk to my employees like that."
