"Your contacts are questionable if this is where they're having you hide out."
Addison let out a small laugh as she climbed out of the car, the wet grass crushing beneath her feet. "Not everyone likes to live lavish," Addison called over her shoulder, pushing a rock over to be able to access the hidden door, "and this is a place we use for cover, I only need to make a call and this is the only place I can rewire the telephones, so you can either stay in the car or you can come with me, I'm fine with either."
Lloyd groaned as he pushed off the place on the car he was leaning, helping Addison lift the broken door of its hinges before following her into the hidden room. Electronic panels covered the walls, motherboards were on every table, the lights of the different devices lit the room with a blueish glow. His eyes slid over the room before landing on Addison, her eyes sparkling with excitement, this was her element. "What do you need me to do?" Lloyd asked, his hand spreading against her lower back, pressing his lips to her temple.
"Keep guard, the last thing I need is for this house to be blown up," Addison's head tilted to look at Lloyd, her smile lighting a fire in his body. He realized that he was craving to see that smile again, to see it reach her eyes after so much happening around her, Addison's job was ripped from her after finally coming to terms with the fact of Lloyds first betrayal, then she was hit with his second betrayal right after he promised her the moon and the stars. There was no winning for her, but if Lloyd was able to bring just a sliver of joy into her life, that would be enough for him.
A nod was all Lloyd offered, before he leaned against the door frame to watch her work.
Addison moved quickly, immediately going to a computer and turning it on, before turning around to grab a phone from a drawer in the desk beside her. Everything was second nature to her as she pulled the back of the phone off, placing a non tracer by the motherboard before settling the battery back into place. The screen illuminated her face while she turned back to the computer, bringing up a program Lloyd was unfamiliar with, her fingers typing quickly against the keyboard, plugging a cord into the phone from the computer to the phone before leaning back in the seat.
Lloyd watched on in fascination as she worked. It had been so long since he had seen her do her craft, she was so sure of every movement she made, the electronics second nature as she focused on what she was doing. He couldn't stop the smile that grew on his face as she finally scanned over the computer once more, her shoulders relaxing before she picked up the phone, dialing someone.
Lloyd knew this is what he wanted for the rest of his life, he wanted her to challenge him, to push him to be the best mercenary he could be. He wanted her to sit at the top of his empire with him. Lloyd wanted her to trade her last name for his and finally be unified as one. She could do everything he couldn't, she was the other half of his brain. While Lloyd was good at carrying out an order with no remorse, Addison was good at tracking the target without so much of a digital footprint. On top of her being a tech wizard, she was also the only other person he trusted with hand to hand combat.
She was the seventh member of the Sierra program, regardless of what anyone wanted to think.
Lloyd was shaken out of his thoughts when he heard Addison set the phone on speaker, the device hitting the table with a gentle thud as it rang. Three excruciating seconds before the voice that had denied Lloyd a job of the CIA came through. "Do you have it?" Addison skipped out on hello, ignoring the kindness Margaret was dealing her. There was no time for formalities, Addison had to make this phone call and her and Lloyd had to be back on the road before anyone located Tobias' missing car.
