Chapter 24

(Kristin Clarke is so fine y'all)

"Kelan! Kiersten!" I've been on the phone with them for an hour and a half. Xin showed me how to contact them, and Nia allowed me to use her card for the fees. I asked her not to, but she insisted since I agreed to help.

"Still here!" Ki says. "How long is it until you get back?"

"Three and a half months." I confirm.

"I can't take that long!" Kelan yells from the background. "School kicking my a--"

I giggle. Scolding him means nothing if we're an Ocean away. "You'll get over it."

"That mean you'll get back right when it's cold." Ki says.

"I'll already be packed then."

As we continue to talk about nothing, I play with my underwear, which happen to be the only thing I have on other than that green robe. My clothes are fitting odd: some are too big and some too small. My body is changing again from the boxing I do. My arms and legs are stimulated more from movement, and they're growing again. That means I'm loosing my boobs again. Fighting wasn't in the criteria, but it's really fun after a long day of playing life saved and keeping secrets from the CPD.

"Yeah! I gotta do-." I catch a glimpse of what she says. "-You ok?"

"My clothes are too small." I sigh.

"Kelan! Your friend are outside waiting for you!" She yells.

"Freedom!!" His stick taps against the floor faster than usual.

"Free for you! I'm paying!" They pass one another something and he leaves camera shot.

"Thank you for taking him in." I say.

"No problem! Those stupid officials saying he needs to live so close to school. They can get off his back 'cuz I got him!" She vents. "Hey, he's been asking about your old house."

"My house." I correct her.

"Your house." She says. "He misses it."

"You can move in if you want, but there is no way I could ask you to move into a whole new house for me."

"Your Dad has a 4 room, 3 bath house with a dining room and actual living room space. It comes with a two car garage. I would be HONORED to live in a house like that."

"It's up to you, but I left the key with Kyle."

She holds up the keys to the house. "and I got it. We visited for their reunion and he let me take the key since I'm closer."

"I'll be back in three months, so you have that much time before I pay you back."

She makes a face as if she's about to preach. "Baby, that's all I need!"

A knock comes to the door. I was expecting Xin again since I have around 3 more days until I can work again. Since we started sleeping together, life has been less tense. Hookup culture is common here, but the people are a lot more quiet about who lies in their beds. As it should be.

"Ki, I have to see you later."

"Hold on, I got something to say before you go. I wasn't gonna tell you at first, but I guess I better say it now."

"What. It has to rush."

"It's... Zestra." I look at the screen. "A-and Spida."

Trying to hide my hurt. "So?"

"Spida took out a loan and got himself together. He got a nice little house and a ring."

"A house and a ring?" I ask. "That doesn't mix."
