After a twenty minute drive we get back home.

Although, the drive feels like three seconds.

Damon grabs the bag out of the trunk and we walk inside the house.

"Home sweet home!" Damon exclaims.
"We were gone one night." I chuckle.

"Really? Felt like years." He says and pours himself a glass of bourbon.

"Damon. It's three o'clock." I remind him.
"Exactly. I should've had this five hours ago." He smiles and takes a sip.

I roll my eyes and take a seat.
Here goes nothing I guess...

"Can we talk?" I ask, my tone more serious.
"Sure..." He says, hesitantly.

Damon's Pov

I'm fucking terrified.

'Can we talk?' About what? I'm shitting myself over here. But I stay calm. It's a new thing I'm trying.

I take a seat next to her and put on the fakest smile ever.

"When you were with Stefan and Enzo, and I was with Bonnie and Caroline..." She starts.

I nod, causing her to continue.

"They made me realise something..."

I hate this whole pausing thing.
I just want her to spit it out already.

But, I nod again.

"So, I took a test to prove it..."

A test?...
What does she mean by a test?

"I'm pregnant Damon." She tells me.

I'm looking at the floor, too scared to look at her face.
How?

The night I took the cure...
Fucks sake.

I want to scream, smash things, storm out and go rip someone apart.

But I can't. I'm not a vampire.
And even if I was, I couldn't.

When Elena was put into her coma, I promised myself when she was back I'd give her everything she wanted.

I'd change.
I'd be the man she needed.
I'd be the better man.

So I stay calm.

I look up at her and tears are falling from her eyes.
Shit.

"Hey, come here." I say softly and pull her into my arms.

She sobs into my shoulder and I hold her tightly.

"It's okay. It's going to be okay." I tell her.

It's not okay.
I don't know if it will be okay.

But she needs to hear this.
I can't stand to see her upset.

She pulls away.

"I thought you'd lash out...break stuff, get angry...and...I thought you'd leave me." She struggles to say the last part.
