Another short chapter, not as short though!
///////////////////////////////////////////////////

"Caroline I can't just make the baby start kicking," I tell her for the tenth time, literally.

"I want to feel it," She pouts.
"Well, the baby hasn't kicked since last night so get over it."

"The past couple days, Damon's been squinting when he reads," I say.

"And?..." She asks, confused.
"I think he needs glasses."

She starts laughing manically,
"I'm sorry, I just can't imagine Damon wearing glasses."

"I think he'd look sexy," I smile.
"I'm going to go and throw up before I leave," She gets up, walking to the bathroom.

Damon walks down the stairs, on the phone,

'How's it so far?'
'So she isn't catching on?'
'Good, I'll check in later, bye'

He hangs up and looks at me.

"What was that?" I ask.
"Nothing."

I raise one eyebrow,
"Just trust me, please."
"Fine," I sigh.

———

"I can't believe you're making me come here," He whines as we walk into the opticians.

"You're struggling to read,"
"And, you haven't had an eye test since 1862," I whisper.

"Hi, can I help?" The lady at the desk asks.
"Hi, we have an appointment for Damon Salvatore."

She types something into her computer then looks back up, "Just take a seat by there, someone will be with you shortly."

We sit in the chairs and wait a few minutes, the whole time Damon whines like a baby about being here.

"Damon Salvatore," A woman calls.
"You'll be fine," I assure him as he gets up and walks over to the lady.

They go into a room and I wait there.

———

Damon walks out with a glasses case in his hand, an annoyed expression on his face.

"Let me see!" I squeal.
He sighs, opening the case and putting the glasses on.

"Do a little twirl," I spin my finger around and he groans, taking the glasses off and putting them away.

"They're only for reading, I'm not even going to wear them."
"Why not?" I ask, walking out the door.

"Because, they make me feel old," He says.
"You're not old. In my opinion, they make you look hot," I smile.

One of his eyebrow's raise and I correct myself, "Hotter."

He smiles subtly, "Thank you."

Damon's Pov

"I have to see these on you," Stefan laughs, handing me my glasses.

I reluctantly put them on and Stefan and Ric start laughing.

"This is why I refuse to wear them," I take them off, putting them back in the case and on the table.

I take a sip of the bourbon Ric finally bought, it's cheap but better than the cheap beer he usually gives me.

"I better head home," Stefan says.
Me and Ric say goodbye before he leaves.

"Uncle Damon!" Livvy yells, running down the stairs in front of Lucy, they'd just woken up from their nap.

"There's my girls!" They climb into my lap. "Wow, you're getting big," I tell them.

"I'm this much taller!" Livvy exclaims, spreading her fingers apart what looks like a centimetre.

"Soon you're gonna be taller than me," I say.

"Where's auntie Elena?" Lucy asks, looking around for her. "She's at work with your mommy, she'll be here soon."

"Come and play with us," Livvy jumps down from my lap, yanking my arm.

"Do I have a choice?" I ask.
She shakes her head, practically dragging me into the living room, Lucy follows behind.

I hear Ric chuckle in the back, "Shut up!" I yell.

Elena's Pov

Jo unlocks the front door and we walk in.

Today's shift was busy and stressful, so I'm glad it's over.

"We're home!" Jo calls out and Damon walks over from the living room, the twins on either side of his back.

"Mommy!" They exclaim, Damon puts them down and they run into Jo's arms.

"They're getting way too big for that," Damon breathes, walking over to me.

"And we don't care," Liv says.
"Shut up you," Damon points at her.

"Hi," He mutters, pecking me on the lips.
"Hi."

"Hi auntie Elena," Lucy smiles, wrapping he arms around my leg.
"Hi sweetie," I unlatch her arms and pick her up.

"Where's Ric?" Jo asks Damon,
"Kitchen," He answers, picking up Liv.

Jo walks off and we're left with the girls.

"Do you wanna show auntie Elena your new school bags?" Damon asks and their faces immediately light up.

They both nod frantically and we put them down, each of them grab my hands and pulling me up the stairs.

When we walk into their bedroom I see a bag on each of their beds.

"They start big girl school on Monday," Damon tells me.

The girls climb onto their beds and start playing with the zips on their bags.

"Why didn't they go to preschool?" I ask him.
"Ric and Jo were too worried, after everything you know."

I nod, walking over to the girls.
"Are these your bags for kindergarten then?"

They show me their bags and tell me everything about them for 30 minutes.

Damon stands in the doorway, just watching, with a smile on his face.
