Hawkins High 1986 Spring Semester,

〰️Chrissy's Pov〰️  

     It was a cold morning, and I had my cheer outfit on so I was destined to be shivering all day. I began my trek towards the school rubbing my arms to maybe conserve some heat. I lived close enough to the school so it was never a bother if Jason couldn't take me to school. He sometimes had practice before school which I found odd but brushed off. I began to see the parking lot of the school and began to smile. 

     Half of the cheer team were huddled up around Catherine's car. I chatted with the group before I heard a horribly loud van pull into the parking lot. Eddie, a known Dungeons and Dragons player hops out of the said van, sporting his 'Hellfire' shirt. I always felt a sense of, I don't know,  familiarity when I look at him. I shake off the feeling and the bell rang. 

     " I'll see you guys at the pep rally today! Remember to get out of class a few minutes over to make sure we all know the routine. Got it?" I commented to the now full cheer team. A full acknowledgement from the team was heard. I smiled and began to head to first period where I get to see Jason. 

     " Hey Sunshine," Jason greeted me with a smile. " How was your morning? Sorry I couldn't give you a ride, I know your cold." I lean my head on his shoulder. The letterman jacket cold against my face. 

     " Oh it was fine, this skirt does not do much to help," I say giggling, " How was practice this morning?" I asked. He sighed and pet my head.

     " It was fine, Sunshine. Don't worry about me." He replied sullenly. 

     I raised my head off of his shoulder when the teacher walked in.

     Of course the lecture is boring and I look at the clock and visibly cringe, I'm gonna be the late one. I shot my hand up and the teacher nodded, already knowing that cheer was exempted to the bell. A plus side to the whole popular thing. 

     I grabbed my bag and headed to the gym and when I got there all eyes were on me. 

     " What's going on? Did I miss something?" I asked, wondering why their faces looked blue. One girl in the corner just stared at me and shook her head. I was puzzled, and Catherine walked up to me.

     " Can we chat in private real quick?" I nodded and she led me by the wrist right outside of the gym. 

     " What's going on? What's wrong?" I asked agitatedly. We needed to practice before the pep rally in half an hour.  

     " I'm sure you've had a feeling that this was gonna happen sooner or later, I mean, if had I known earlier this was going on I would have totally told you." She seemed to be prolonging the news and I started running scenarios through my head. Was I getting kicked off the team? Did they not want me as their captain anymore? 

     " Jason is cheating on you."
