〰️ Eddie's Pov 〰️

     The days went by slowly, Chrissy came to give me all of the homework the day after. Of course, Steve Harrington as her chauffeur. Steve and my uncle helped her of course, considering some fucking creep broke her shoulder.

     Her mom found out what our home phone number was, so she called frequently, to make sure Chrissy was alright. I admired her mom for caring so much about her. Chrissy and I would have homework dates at the trailer. She caught me up on all of the homework I needed to graduate.

     And soon it was spring break. Chrissy had been extremely excited about this, considering she had no work to do over it. I, on the other hand, was a stupid prick and now I'm not going to school. So I had work to catch up on.

     It was Monday, the sun an unusual shade of white, it was warm and I had been outside smoking. I then hear a loud engine roaring towards the trailer park, and it was Billy.

     Even better, Chrissy was in the passenger seat. I had a twinge of warmth in the pit of my stomach, and it wouldn't go away. She stepped out of the car and shined that beautiful smile of hers. I couldn't help but smile back at her and hug her with my free arm.

     Billy gets out as well with her bag and a box. She smiles at him and waves him over, he's clearly not in the mood. " Hey there Pal." I say quickly and take the back pack in my hands. He just nods and smiles at Chrissy.

     " What time do I need to pick you up Sweetheart?" He asked.

     Before I could even think before I spoke, " Sweetheart? Who the hell you calling Sweetheart?" I got defensive over Chrissy and stepped toward Billy.

     " Woah, woah. He says that to everyone I promise Baby." Chrissy says behind me as I'm still glaring at the man. We were about the same age, considering I've been held back a few times. I didn't like someone else calling her a pet name. It was infuriating to know she is okay with it. I just took the bag and went inside, spitting the cig out onto the gravel.

      I heard them say their goodbyes, and she came in behind me hot on my heels.

     " What was that Eddie?" She asked agitated. I just shrug my good shoulder and give her her bag.

     " Nothing. He shouldn't be calling you that. End of story." I smile at her trying to be nice. She just blows me off and goes to my room. I follow her, wondering why she's going to my room of all places.

     The box she was carrying was a gift box and it was black. She pulled out a t shirt. I then realized it's the exact same shirt I was wearing at the party, but the shirt was taken into evidence so I couldn't get it back. I smile widely at her and she returns it.

     " You like it? I got one for myself too. So we can match!" She seemed excited, and not at all mad anymore. I sigh in relief and nod to her.

     " Of course I love it Princess. Anything you give me I'll love it... Forever and ever. Even if it's your attitude." I poke her nose and she scrunches her face.

      " Well I'm glad. I've been taking small shifts at the coffee shop, when I'm not here basically teaching you."

     The night went my fast, she told me about her day while I did the work. Then, of course, came the topic of graduation. I was so fucking pumped for it, I'm sure I was grinning ear to ear.

     " It's May 13, at 8. I'm sure you will be there." She giggled. I couldn't help but peck her cheek as she did so. She was so radiant and beautiful. I don't know what I did to deserve her. She treats me so well and I just don't know how to show her.

      Anyway, graduation.

     She explained to me the process and the fees, which weren't to bad, but I still needed a job.

     " Do you still have a position open for that coffee shop?" I ask and she smiles.

     " No but I can ask Dwayne tomorrow, I'm sure he knows." Chrissy says and I felt that warmth again. I didn't like it. It was still there even when I tried to push it down.

     We talked about everything going on, how Jason has dramatized the fight and everything and we laughed over kettle popcorn.
