〰️ Chrissy's Pov 〰️

The next few days had been increasingly good. It felt wonderful to let everything out, my mind was not crowded anymore. No more needless thoughts on if he liked me back or not.

I got my car privileges back, but I still found excuses to ride with him to school and back. We usually went to the coffee shop after school and drank something warm, and talked about our lives and daily drama.

" So what's cheerleading been like?" Eddie asked, stirring whatever coffee he got.

" Eh, it's alright. Everyone on the team is weary of me. That 'fight' I had with Catherine didn't really help my reputation. But hey, she deserved it for talking about you like that." I made a fist and play punched him. He giggles and drinks his coffee.

" Yeah, I agree. She was kind of coming into me heavy. It was annoying honestly, how she just talked about herself while we were here for lunch that one time." He admits and I nod.

" No shit. She was annoying. I'm glad she got me out of her classes." I smile and drink my hot chocolate, my new favorite since he's been taking me here almost everyday.

" I was thinking about getting a job here soon... Ya know, to get some decent cash for school. That is, if I go to school. I don't know if I really want to. Either way I need a job." He laughs quietly. I hum at the thought of it.

" Well, what job would you apply to?" I ask.

" I was thinking either an apprenticeship at as a mechanic or something simple, like this coffee shop. I enjoy the cool atmosphere in here, but I also love the sound of drills and banging. It's just a great divide." He breaths out.

" Maybe, just maybe, you should try the coffee shop first... and maybe the mechanic shop later. Don't overwork yourself yet." I explain and he nods his head in agreement. " And I started thinking that too. But I think I would rather work at Family Video, ya know. Because I know people there. I'm sure these people are sweet," I jest to the people behind the counter," but this isn't my scene of work."

" Yea, Harrington works there doesn't he?" He asked and I hum a 'yes'. " Well, I'm sure I can trust him around you. But if he ever lays a finger on you wrongly I swear I'll-"

" Eddie! He's not the type to do that." I laugh and cut him off. He smirks at me and reaches up to tuck a piece of hair behind my ear.

" I know, I know. I'm just making sure Princess. You tell me if something does happen, ok?" He questions. I mutter a yes to him and continue to drink. " Say, there is a party here soon. Might be fun to let loose for a while. I know it's the end of our senior year and everything so, maybe it'll be fun?"

I thought of it for a moment. " That sounds really fun! When is it?" I chirp.

" Well it should be tonight. Sorry it's such short notice." He rubs his neck and smiles anxiously at me.

I finally agreed to going, only for the simple fact that Eddie would be there and I could rely on him to be my person. I'm not one for the party scene, Jason always took me to them when I didn't feel like it. I told my mother me and a friend were hanging out that night and I would be taking my car and picking them up. She agreed, and told me where the spare key was.

I arrive at Eddie's trailer, I wore a short and simple dress with leggings on underneath, to make sure I was securely warm enough for the party. He gets in my car and kisses me quickly on my forehead. " Ready?" He asked.

" Ready as I'll ever be."

〰️ At the party 〰️

As soon as I parked you could already smell the strong stench of cannabis and the stench of alcohol on everyone's breath. I stayed close to Eddie while we walked around greeting ourselves to people we knew: Gareth, Steve, and a few others whom of which I didn't know the names of.

I saw Billy from a distance, but decided not to talk to him. Why is he here in the first place? He already graduated. But then I remember so is Steve, so maybe just a friendly party. I branch off from Eddie and began to follow Steve, hoping he and I could stick together while Eddie was busy.

" Hey Shithead!" I call out to him. He looks back at me and smiles, a blue solo cup in his hand.

" Hey Chrissy!" He halfway slurs. I giggle at how he's already buzzed. He puts an arm around me and sways back and forth to the music playing. I lead him to the kitchen where I get my own drink, but nothing too strong, considering I'm driving.

" So I was wondering if you needed some staff for Family Video?" I asked as I poured my drink.

" With a face like yours Chrissy? Anytime. Hell, Robin could probably hire you," He says in all seriousness. I nod and smile at him. " Plus it would be nice to have someone else on the team."

" Yea I was thinking about it. Seems like everyone already has a job." I laugh and he nods.

" You're just behind in the game man. Cash is always good to have if you don't have daddy's money." He says to both himself and I.

A lot of time passed between us in a comfortable silence. " So how is Robin? I mean, is she alright?" I ask as he smiles.

" Sounds like you like her or something." He coughed out. I whip my head to him and laugh.

" No it's not like that... She's a good friend now I just haven't heard from her in a while." I sigh out, leaning against the counter next to him.

" Shes fine, Chrissy. Im sure of it. She even has a new crush." He waves his fingers towards me and I smile.

     " Oh yeah?"

" Oh yeah. She's a senior too. Hopefully she doesn't break her heart." He says and frowns.

We sat there talking nonsense for the longest time, and began to move closer and closer to the living room, where all the noise was. I saw Eddie walking around with Gareth, we made eye contact and he smiled. Maybe he was ok with me and Steve being close. Jason never let me be close to someone so... Attractive? Is that the word? I don't know.

Speaking of the devil. Jason walks into the kitchen with us, Steve staring daggers into him.
