〰️ Chrissy's Pov 〰️

     I woke up this morning feeling sluggish. I wasn't very excited about the fact that I'm going to be the talk of the town for a while, since Catherine's parents are so high on the popularity chain. I had my driving privileges taken away due to my actions so I had to walk to school, which is a bummer. I wish I asked Eddie but it was late last night, and I didn't want to bother him. I hum along to a song on my Walkman and trek my way to the school.

     I was almost there when I heard a car pull up beside me. I expect Eddie and look beside me. A sleek, blue Camaro was there instead. I lolled my head to the side, confused on who the hell this was. The unknown person rolls down their own window and waved at me to come closer. I was wary, but agreed to this strangers idea. A muscular man met my gaze as I looked in the passenger side window, and next to him a red headed girl. The girl rolls her window down, clearly annoyed. I've seen him around school and heard bad things about him. How he whores around and parties all the time before he graduated. I shiver, a lack of clothes on my skin.

     " Hey there stranger. You need a ride? My name is Billy and this is Maxine," he pointed towards the girl as she flashes a small smile at me. " If you need one I can make room in here somehow. You look cold. I assume you're going to Hawkins High." I begin to think of Billy's offer. Once I felt it was alright since another girl was in the car I nodded.

     " Yea, I could use a ride. I can get in the back if you want I don't mind-" I begin but he makes multiple 'tsk' sounds.

     " That won't do, Max can you get in the back for this pretty lady?" He asked and she rolled her eyes and climbed into the back seat. I got into the car, a newfound warmth in the seat and air. I smile and give a small thank you to him and a 'sorry' to Maxine. She waved it off as she smiled at me.

     " Say, aren't you the lead cheerleader here?" Maxine asks from the backseat.

     " Why, yes I am! I'm Chrissy," I held out a hand as she took it," Nice to meet you." She smiled at me and introduced herself. She then got caught up into her own Walkman, and the car was quite, besides the radio. Billy hummed along to the lyrics I couldn't quite catch, but swayed along to the beat.

     We reached the high school, and I got out. " Thank you Billy, I really appreciate it." I smile at him, and he returns it.

     " No problem Chrissy. Anytime." He drives off leaving Maxine and I in the cold parking lot. I decided to make small talk while instinctively going towards Eddie's now parked van.

     " So what do you like to do for fun Maxine?" I asked. She looked up at me and shrugged.

     " Well I guess you could say I like to skateboard, and listen to music a lot," She smiles. " What about you?"

     " I guess I've never thought about it. Eddie taught me how to skateboard recently and I think I really like it. And maybe some Dungeons and Dragons here and there." I giggle making her perk up.

     " My friends love Dungeons and Dragons. Aren't they in Eddie's group? Maybe you've met them before." She questions. I began to remember the two younger ones of the group.

     " Do you mean Dustin and Mike by chance?" I ask. She nods and smiles.

     " Yep! Those are the two!" She giggles.
    
     We said our goodbyes and parted ways in the parking lot, she goes towards Steve's car and I stay close to Eddie's van. I began to make my way towards Eddie's window, having to get on my tiptoes to knock on it. He immediately sprung up from what he was doing and looked at me. He unlocked the passenger side door and I happily climbed in.

     " Good morning, sire." I tease in an old man's English voice. He smiled at me and crumpled up a piece of paper and threw it in the back of the van. Note to self, sneak that paper.

     " Good morning Princess. Get any sleep with me on your mind?" He winked at me and I dramatically roll my eyes.

    " I got plenty of sleep shithead. I'm just nervous for this talk with the principal." I admit to him as we began to get out of the van.

     " I have your back no matter what. Even if this all goes to shit. I'll get work from your classes or whatever." He mumbles to me swinging his back pack on. I nod and take in the sounds of the bustling school.

     We went to first block, with no Catherine around. There were whispers everywhere, some even pointing towards me. They didn't seem to be making fun of me or mocking me this time. No, this time, they seemed... Scared.

     I hated that this is what they were talking about. I wish they weren't scared of me, I wish everything was normal. I hadn't even noticed how I began to but my hands over my ears and close my eyes.

     I was knocked out of my daze by Eddie. He put his hand on my shoulder and began to rub small circles into it. I look at him, my eyes watery. He smiles at me lowly, and I try to return it to him but it failed.

     First period had gone by and still no Catherine. I began to wonder where she was, and what she had lied about to the principal. Thinking of the devil, Mrs. Alreda called my name and told me to head to his office. A mixture of shushes and oohs were heard as I walked out of the class with my bag.

     I sit outside of the principals office, playing with my hair and nails, trying to figure out what was about to happen. Was I being suspended or was I going to get let off? " Chrissy," the principals voice boomed and I stood up. " Come in."

     I took a seat in one of the leather chairs, no one in the other. I was hoping Eddie would be able to help me, but this doesn't seem like the case. " Due to recent events, I think it would be good if we had a one on one, just to make sure everything matches up." He said and I nodded. We went over the same story over and over every detail I said previously with Eddie. When we were done he began to speak. " Well, Ms. Cunningham, it looks like your story is the most believable, considering your clean record and the witness," I believed by this time he was talking about Eddie, " So neither of you will be suspended nor any expulsions. I will be switching the classes you already have, but to different periods so that the two of you do not have a chance to, have an altercation." He explained the last bit with his hands as he gave me a paper full of the new classes. " You start these tomorrow, and if your unsure you can ask me. Other then that your free to go. I'll make sure to explain to your parents of this situation." He waved me out and I smiled.

     I finally got justice for once.
