Chapter 10 : Carnival

It was such a big secret where we were all headed for the next part of the birthday surprise. I half expected burlap bags to be placed over our heads.

After a decent drive, we pulled up to the carnival. We all parked and got out. Every one of us grinning excitedly.

"We're gonna go on all the rides! And I'm gonna win you all the prizes, Angel!" Eddie exclaimed as he grabbed my hand.

Our group was off, running through the parking lot.

"What do you want to do first?" Eddie asked, pulling me close. 

"Uhm. That one!" I pointed across the lot to the balloon darts. We all went over.

"How much of it's your birthday?" Becky asked the carney, pointing over at Eddie and me.

"For birthdays, hmmmm. I guess I can let you guys have a free go this one time." They said as they handed us each a dart, explaining what color balloon would win what prizes.

They smiled at me before moving their gaze to watch my boyfriend.

Eddie went first, not really aiming for any particular color. He just hoped he would hit one. And he did. He managed to hit a pink balloon, winning a decently sized pink seal plush. He took it and waited for me, watching to see how I'd do.

I was aiming for a particular color. It's one of the more rare ones on the wall. I wanted to use my abilities, but I wanted to play fair. Eddie could see it on my face.

"Hey! Play nice." He said to me. I smirked at him, my eyes lighting up. I nodded before I released my dart. It went right into the metallic looking silver balloon, just the one I wanted.

With that one, I could pick whatever prize I wanted, no matter what size.

"That one, please! " I said as I pointed at the largest plush. A giant panda in a denim jacket. They handed it over and clapped.

"Well done, let's hear it for the birthday girl!"

"Thank you." I said as I took my prize and we all started walking around again.

"Did you cheat?" Eddie asked, narrowing his eyes at me, checking to see if my nose was bleeding. I nudged him with my elbow and laughed.

"Of course not." He pursed his lips a little before his tongue peeked out, still giving me that look. "Eddie, I promise." His face relaxed and he nudged me back.

"I know, I'm just messing with you." I smiled at him before asking. "Becky, can I put this thing in the car? It's huge."

"Yeah, we can put Eddie in the car. It must be hard caring him around like that." she laughed as we headed to the car. The panda really does kind of look like him. They have the same style, almost.

"Hardy har, very funny." He said as he also tossed his prize into the car. I know he won it for me, he would never be seen with a pink thing, other than me.

"Oh Eddie, I thought I put you in the car?" He scrunched his face up at me before he tackled me, grabbing me tight around the waist and pressed his lips hard to mine.

"Can your panda do that?" He asked. Or this?" He pulled me close and kissed at my neck.

"Careful lover boy." Becky said, trying to hint at what happened before they got to our trailer, without saying the words not wanting either of us to get upset again.

"Right, right." He said as he backed away a little and took my hand in his. We made our way back to the group.

"I'm kinda hungry. Does anyone else want some artery clogging greasy carnival food?" I asked as my stomach growled.
