When you got home on Friday five months later, you'd decided it was time for your fifth stream. You had a good feeling about this one! The past few months, you'd been spending time working on growth and studying algorithms. You made a TikTok to upload highlights, an Instagram and Twitter to post 'going live's, and had just been married to the grind.
Your whole world had been revolving around streaming, and for your effort, you amassed enough followers to become affiliated-about fifty five. A dream come through. All you could ever hope to ask for.
Hitting your chair with a small 'thump!', you steadied yourself on the desk to keep the chair from sliding. With a soft breath releasing from your lips, and your bag now discarded on the ground, everything began to load up with a few button presses.
A tweet sent out directly as a stream started up, and you were left there smiling. Happiest you'd been in years. Despite it all, you were happy. A true burning joy in your heart, a passion you'd thought had been left in childhood now raging bright once more.
"Woaaah~ wassup!" You laughed as the beginning timer ran out. "So so, today I was thinking, and how would you all feel about playing a little game called The Closing Shift? Hm?" You grinned into your cheap microphone. "Well, whatever you guys think, you don't get a choice! I'm playing it."
So you started up the game, and as it loaded, you snuck a glance at chat.
[ Aciesin : The Closing Shift?? Isn't that the one about the stalker? ]
"Yeah, that's the one, Aciesin." You confirmed in return. "I dunno much else about it. I've heard great things though." You added lightheartedly.
[ Eityna : Omg your live!! ]
"I'm live!" You cheered alongside the viewer. In return you received a blushing face from Eityna.
Things were like that through the stream. It was nice to have viewers to chat to. Especially ones that seemed very interested in participating in conversation. That was how you got so comfortable with streaming. Without your first viewer-Aciesin-you would probably still be a bundle of nerves.
Then the unbelievable happened at the end. "Oh my god!" You gasped. "No fucking way! I told you guys he'd be hiding in there! I knew it! I just knew it!" You rubbed in your viewers faces that you were right. They didn't seem to mind. "Gosh, okay, I'm done for the night. That thoroughly freaked me out."
As you were saying that, a raid came in. Suddenly you had thirty thousand viewers. Your eyes honed in on one message.
[ Frickle : Claristo raid!!!! ]
A laugh left your lips as you stared at the chat wide eyed. "Woah- okay, I have to be delirious. What's going on here?" You breathed out. "Claristo?" Your eyes began to water and voice broke.
[ Claristo gifted 100 subs ]
[ I was wondering where you'd been :) ]That was it, the tears began flooding down. "Oh my gosh!" You sniffled through tears. "Claristo! Thank you so much! This is- wow- is this happening?" You wanted to keep your composure, but it was impossible. Five months and you'd already been recognized by your biggest inspiration.
The chat tried comforting you. Sending you hearts and random emoji's, and Claristo chimed in a few times. Not that you could read any of it through your clouded vision. Sobbing openly into the mic as you let out 'thank you's and eventually a,
"I guess I have to keep streaming, huh?"
