Because of some poor hazy-brained decisions on Ace's part, you both ended up here, in your room. On your bed. And Ace felt like he might just die right then and there— a happy man, of course.

Even if this wasn't your real room, he could still see some of your things and he if just reached a little... No. He could not— could not —grab your pillow. Talk about game over.

Fuck he was a creep.

Was he?

It wasn't like he didn't know what you smelt like anyways...

Had the con really taken that much out of him?

"So, what's up?" Ace finally mustered up asking. You jumped hearing him.

"Oh, yeah, right," you nodded in understanding, "um... How do I..."

Ace let you take your time. He didn't want to rush whatever it was you wanted to tell him. Maybe, just maybe, it was a confession? No, no, that was stupid... Of course it was stupid! If he could, he would've slapped some sense back into himself.

But was this really so nonsensical? He'd seen the way you looked at him...

"So, your fans..."

He perked up hearing your steady voice, but your gaze was flat on the ground. "My... Fans?" Ace rose a brow. You weren't including yourself in that term anymore? He supposed you were more than that now, but still. "Why are you bringing them up?"

"I see how they act in your chat, but I guess I never gave too much thought to how they may act when they don't think you'll hear them talking about you." The words left your lips, and you clasped your hands together. "Maybe it was just a bad egg, I don't know... I never acted like that... Did I?"

"You're mumbling." Ace commented.

"Ah? I am?" You looked over at him. Immediately, you wished you hadn't. He was far too close right now— you could practically feel his breath.

"What happened?" He asked, his voice as soft as cotton. Just like the color of his hair, that pretty cotton white.

"Oh..." You laughed nervously, leaning back and putting a hand over your neck. "That obvious?"

"Very." He chuckled in turn, doing his best to not pull you close and demand to know exactly who had done what.

"... It was just this girl." You sighed.

"Oh, the one with pink hair?"

"Huh? You saw her?" Your eyes widened at him. Ace nodded.

"Or, rather, I suppose Damshi saw them... I think everybody but me did." He sighed deeply, ashamed of the fact he wasn't able to keep a good enough eye on you.

"Well, yeah, her." You confirmed half heartedly.

"She whispered something to you, right? Damshi mentioned you looked shaken up afterwards..."

You almost didn't want to answer. Your friends were all so proud of the community they built. You knew how much Ace's fans meant to him.

Besides, why would he give a fuck what some random girl said?

So why should you?

"... Nah. It's okay." You laughed. "I just misheard her. It freaked me out because I thought she said something totally ridiculous."

Ace wasn't convinced...

Not at all.

"Oh, okay." Ace laughed. "You really had me worried there. Gosh." He shook his head, closing his eyes. And for the briefest of moments, your smile dropped.

You weren't as good at faking it as Ace was. You didn't know he could see right through you.

If you did, maybe you would've fessed up and made it easier on the both of you.
