Chapter thirty-two

The weeks went by fast; I held my breath when Will and Marshall were around. Often it leads to Will bad mouthing Marshall, and Marshall taking it. I fucking hated him for that, I wanted to punch Will for torturing Marshall, he did it to hurt me. That gave me every reason not to marry him, but I couldn’t prove Will was doing this. When Will left home, I apologized to Marshall. It was the only right thing to do, I knock on his door, he opened the door and was dressed in black, and he was smiling; smiling like never before.

“What’s the good news?” I asked.

“We were nominated!”

“What? What you mean?” I asked confusingly.

“Our song!”

“What? I thought we were nominated already, I mean isn’t that how it works?” I asked.

“Who cares? We are going preform at the VMA’s!” Marshall picked me up and spins me around.

I never seen him so happy, “You’re so happy my goodness” I exclaimed. “Choosing you was the best thing ever” he said softly. I smiled unconditionally, Marshall put me down, “When are the…VMA’s?” I asked. “Around the end of April, which is in a couple of weeks” said Marshall. “Natalia, I want to escort you to it, please?” he begged. “Of course, Marshall, of course I would love too!” I kissed his forehead, “Anywhere with you” I said. “Too the stars” he mumbled. “Hmm?” I questioned. “Nothing”

We sat in his apartment listening to the nominees over and over. Every time we hear us, we jump for joy! At one point I caught myself kissing him. That’s when his joy ended, “I’m sorry, Marshall” I said softly. He touched the back of my hair and smoothed it out. “It’s ok, I liked it” he whispered. I sighed, and leaned back on the couch. “Can I give it to you again?” I asked softly. “I wish you could” He smiled pleasantly at me, “You have me you know that” he said. I wanted to say which way, but he would get angry, I don’t feel so angry anymore. Ever since my dad died, I feel extremely tired; maybe I should go to the doctor.

Marshall pushed my hair to the back of ear, “You look tired, Talia”. “I know, I think I should go to the doctor, I’m having problems sleeping” I said. I yawned, “Come here” he whispered, he held his arms open, I cuddled into them; willingly. He laid me on his lap, “a little nap, won’t kill you”. “You won’t care if I fall asleep on you?” I asked, “No, you need to rest, I want you to be near me”. He began caressing my hair over and over until I fell asleep. Once in a while I could feel him place a light kiss on my cheek.

I drifted too my house as a little girl, my father bought me an in-door bicycle; it was the greatest gift from Santa I ever had! I rode through the hall-way listening to my mom’s old soft rock CDs, which was voice-over of my parents fighting in the kitchen.

“Mommy look it” I said. I could feel myself being into reality, I didn’t have any control I wanted to wake up. I followed my five year old self to the kitchen.
