Part 2

“Hello, for those who don’t know me, I’m Natalia’s mother, Renee” Renee kept clearing her throat quietly and rocked back and forth slightly. “In my family, as far back as I could remember, we would have a collogue of pictures and memories of the bride and groom and now Natalia is married, I’m doing the same for her and her new husband” Renee jester to Marshall. Marshall’s mom Debbie stood at Renee’s side; trying not to make any eye contact with anybody. Renee turned her head slightly to Debbie, “And now I can graduate my son and my new daughter-in-law and wish them many happy memories and lots of love” said Debbie.

“Natalia is my only child, after I had her; I learned that I couldn’t have any more children. So, Natalia had no brothers or sisters…She depended on her surrendering family members such as her mom and dad and a few cousins for moral support, guidance, and love. Later on in life, she then depended on her many friends, such as Desmond, Anna-Maria, Nathan, and Naomi which is to name a few. Natalia, my little baby” Renee’s voice began to crack from the tears, “Your father would’ve been so very proud of you, to see you graduated college and to have that piece of paper in your hand and prove you have done everything to get what you wanted. Baby, you have grown from a mischvious little baby, to a smart-mouth teenager” everyone laughed at the embarrassing truth. “To a wonderful, bright, courageous, outstanding women, now you are about to have a child yourself, now the life you’ve always wanted is now completed…with the man you always loved since you were five…at your side” Renee jester her glass to Marshall. Marshall gave a warm smile.

“Marshall, my new son-in-law, I don’t know if Talia ever told you this but as a child she had a big crush on you!” the mood turned light again and everyone began to laugh. Renee had a giant grin on her face as the perfect time to embarrassing her daughter. “I remember it well, Natalia had to be at least five, or eight she was watching the Music awards with me and her father and Marshall had to win an award for one of his well-known songs…All the sudden Natalia’s face just light up and her eyes just pop out of her…She could’ve been a splitting image of Scooby-Doo if she wanted.” Everyone laughed harder, Renee became a little more relaxed, “She asked me, mama, who is that? I wasn’t paying attention, I merely glimpsed and I said, Oh Eminem babe…From the day her dad died he still claimed, under her breath, she heard…WOW! I like him.”

“As years went on, her room became a saran…” Everyone laughed even harder, “Wall to wall Eminem posters…Enough to drive you crazy! Which it did eventually! You saw Marshall’s stage name in your sleep!” she exclaimed. Everyone laughed harder and louder. Even Marshall couldn’t bear to keep a straight face. “Marshall”chuckled Renee, “Natalia loved you more than anything! One Christmas, her father, and I bought her a Eminem baseball cap and skull cap…For the next fifteen years we never knew what the top of Natalia’s head looked like!” Renee exclaimed. Everyone laughed harder, “She would wear those hats night and day! Why I wouldn’t be surprised in the shower! She wore the skull cap in the winter and the baseball cap during the spring” said Renee, “Which you will see soon in the colleague soon! That Debbie and I put together with a few members of the families” Renee jestered to the screen in the back of her.

“I hope you two, have nothing but good memories, wonderful health, wonderful memories with your children…Love one another…as my mother said to me on my wedding day…Love is not measure by time or by the blood of your family…It is measured by the person whom will give our blood too and happiness is a gift and the trick is to not expect it but to delight it when it come and it has come…To…” Everyone raised their glasses “To Mr. and Mrs. Marshall Bruce and Natalia Kamila Mathers.”

“To my beloved son…” Debbie said. Marshall picked his head up slightly. “You were ans still are the most amazing…sweet…wonderful smart person that has grown in front of my eyes. I know I wasn’t the best mother in the world as you grew up and I understand you still have mixed feelings about me, I don’t know if this will mean much to you but, seeing you smile at the alter like you have never before has made me come to realize how this young lady means so much to you. I had to stop to think how much I always wanted this for you and how much you deserve this…Most of you would know how troubling Marshall’s past was. But it was not always like that, when Marshall was a couple months old; whenever he heard music; he would start rocking in his baby chair, dancing around in his walker, and start moving his hands…and when the music was turned off he would cry and cry! He even napped while listening to music he would listen to old school hip hop and occasionally Frank Sintara! Marshall did everything like a normal little boy did. He even brought home a pet snake from the garden and begged me to keep it!” The crowed laugh.

“Those are just some few fond memories of my son. Marshall, your dad missed out on an amazing, young man and don’t ever think for a moment the trouble was you. I’m so very proud of you baby. To my new daughter-in-law, just looking at you, I know you have a heart of gold and a unbreak spirit I would only ask as I know your mother did too, take care of my grandchildren and my son. I hope all of you including the new baby have the most happiest times together. Be all you can be. To the new family.” Debbie raised her glass.

As the wedding continued I wonder around searching for Marshall. Where could he possibly be? I tired out quickly and decided to sit back in my seat. A small piece of paper was placed on my plate, it looked elegant against the pearl plate. I picked up the small piece and realized it was a note to me from Marshall.

"Meet me outside in the courtyard, Marshall"

I gushed at the cute, mysterious note and causally made my way outside; being delayed slightly by the guests congradulting me and some prolonging me even more by asking me about our unborn child. Eventually, I made it to the courtyard. Marshall stood straight with his hands behind his back. His starred into the twilight sky as the day sky meet the night. The sun had a orange-yellowish glow to it.

My foot steps intrupted his concentration on the sky. He turned swifty and smiled gently at me. He gestured his hand over to me as I gladly expected. "Come on I have something to show you" Marshall said. I smiled at his romantic gestures.

We strolled in the back of the courtyard arm and arm. The air had a quiteness to it that left tension with the music from the wedding faigly in the background.

"What do you want to show me, sweetie?" I asked. Marshall placed his hand around my waist and another in my palm.

"I just want to be alone with you, without having to yell over the music or intrupted" he said softly. I smiled as we glided with the music. I nestled my chin on his shoulder as he wrapped his strong arms around me.

"I love you" I mumbled.

"I love you too, baby". When the song eneded, I was unwilling to break away from Marshall's arms. I found myself placing a small kiss on his nose and two on his eyes.

His eyes were almost black as the sun was hardly visable. The night lights one by one started to turn on around certain parts of the courtyard. Marshall glided his had around my stomach.

"How is the baby?" He whispered. "It's fine" I said horasely, clearing my throat.  We hugged each other gently.

"You look so beautiful" he mumbled. I smiled, "You always looked beautiful". I was utterly speachless.

"Shall we continue?" I asked. Marshall gave a half smile, along the way he wrapped his jacket around me. We held hand and hang and my dress hanging in my hand so I wouldn't trip over it. We circled the courtyard three times and it felt as thought time has stopped. I forgot I was married today. And yet I could see Marshall and I doing this all the time. I could see us with our own family.

Marshall placed another kiss on my cheek and gripped my hand tighter. Once in awhile he would place a couple of kisses on my hand. Our wedding rings interwinded perfectly with each other. I knew right there and then Marshall is my soulmate.
