Chapter forty-six
Marshall’s POV continued…
I tip-toed out of bed and casually walk to the bathroom and started looking through her medicine chest. There was nothing much in it expect Midol. There were only a couple of pills left in the bottle; it seemed she was only taking this then the sleep meds. I sat on the toilet seat and noticed the garbage pail filled with old tampons wrapped up, I put two and two together and figured it was her time of month. I’ve never experienced that before, not even with the girls yet. Well when the time comes I guess I have to talk to Kim about it. I put the Midol back and closed the cabinet. I sighed and figured I might have to watch her every step.
My head pop up at the sound of Natalia screaming! I rushed out of the bathroom and saw her tossing and turning in the bed. She wasn’t saying anything she was only screaming. I walked over and tried to wake her up. “Natalia, Natalia!” I said, no matter how much I was shaking her she wasn’t waking up. I took the water off the night stand and poured some over her face. Her eyes pop open as she started panting heavily. My heart stopped racing, “Are you ok?” I asked and she looked terrified enough she couldn’t speak, she let out a soft “mmhmm.” She lifted herself out of bed and hugged me “Shh, it was only a dream baby” I said to comfort her. Her whole body was shaking like she was freezing and she felt like she was on fire.
“Shh” I kept repeating, “you’re safe now.” “Why am I soaking wet?” she asked. “I couldn’t wake you up so I dump some water on your face” I said, “Oh” she said,
“I’m sorry” I said sadly.
“I’m glad you did” she said. She crawled out of bed and walked into the kitchen. I had the strangest feeling that someone was watching me, as if I turned my back they were there. It gave me an eerie feeling and the room became slightly colder than usual. The feeling became stronger and it forced me out of the room.
I walked into the kitchen and saw Natalia with a bottle of water taking two of at least each bottle of sleep aids. I snapped for a moment and knew for sure that my feelings that she was abusing drugs were right.
“What you doing, Natalia!” I exclaimed, I snapped the bottle out of her hands while she was drinking it.
“I’m taking my meds like the doctor told me” she said. She wiped the dripping water from her face.
“Natalia there is no way a doctor prescribed you with that much medication” I raised my voice slightly.
She looked angry at me, “I won’t be able to sleep” she said, she tried to snatch the bottle out of my hands. I pulled the bottle away, as she tried to get it from me.
She sighed out of frustration and took the last ones by hand with no water.
There was no way talking her out of this was going to do good, I had to go to drastic measures. “You keep taking them that way, you will never wake up!” I shouted. “Good!” she exclaimed. My heart dropped at her response, she scoffed and said, “I’m going to lie back down” she put her hand to her head and walked pass me. I saw from the corner of my eye that she was going into the bathroom. I followed her and saw her taking more pills. I became more angry and frustrated.
