Dont leave me

It's been almost a week since I last saw Eddie. I've been avoiding him since our last talk. I kept telling him I'm busy whenever I manage to spot him outside of work and luckily he hasn't attempted to come see me in person or break in.

I think after finding out my mom saw his van and after seeing me get in trouble, he doesn't want to risk putting me in a tough situation like that.

Although my mother forbid me from doing anything I have been stretching the truth a bit and telling her I go on walks in the afternoon. She doesn't pay mind to it but she did question me the second Wednesday I showed up to work and came a bit late. I told her I went to grab a snack with money Zach gave me. She believed it but I think she's getting suspicious. If she doesn't already know something that is.

It's Christmas today though and Zach is out of the house. He's been out a lot lately, which isn't normal for him. I think he and my mom aren't speaking.

Due to that though, I've been the one picking up the slack. I've been running around helping my mom by cleaning while she's out at the store.

I'm sweating by how much I'm moving around and it's getting late now.

I finally finish cleaning all the rooms in the house with mine being last.

I organized the drawing books on my desk. I hung up all my clothes and tossed my dirty ones in my bin of dirty laundry. I organized my shoes. I swept and wiped down my desk and counter; everything. I finished up by making my bed.

Once I was done I tossed all the dirt and dust I swept up into the trash can in the kitchen.

I grabbed the simple clothes I was thinking of wearing today and I finally hopped in the shower.

Once I stepped in and let the warm water hit my skin it felt great. The stress washed away slowly as the water went down my body. Some people would prefer fresher if not cold water after hustling around and getting sweaty but I stick to my warm showers regardless. It's like instinct in me. I can't defer and I don't want to. It feels right.

Once I'm done and get out to change I hear the door jingle open. I rush to my room to get changed fast and avoid her having me clean up every little spot I may have missed in her eyes. I've never argued in a towel before and I'm not about to start today.

When I walked out she was putting away the groceries and she had a ham out with other foods like potatoes for what I'm assuming is going to be mashed potatoes.

She doesn't acknowledge me when I walk into the kitchen so I speak up.

"You need help?" I question and she looks at me.

Her facial expression is bland.

"No," she says calmly and I just nod.

She's not mad but she's also not pointing out what I missed with cleaning. I would say that's bad but she's been surprising me lately with her attitude. I really don't know what to expect from her anymore.

I just walk out of the kitchen before I jinx myself and she snaps at me or something.

I was in my room for the rest of the day until dinner time when Zach finally came home.

He was dressed pretty casually. Wearing a plain white shirt and some light blue denim pants with his combat boots.

"Hey," I say from the couch in the living room as he walks in.

I decided to sit there and watch tv before my mom finished just in case she needed help.

"Hey," he goes smiling.
