I didn't go to school this Friday. Zach said he wanted to take me out but I told him I needed to go to work so he agreed to take me once we were done.

I wasn't a fan of the fact that he came directly after my mom left in the morning making me rush to get changed and ready.

He took me hiking..

"We almost there?" I ask out of breath.

He turns around squinting his eyes at me as I struggle to climb this hill.

"Almost," he says even though he's been saying that for the past hour.

"Remind me why we're here again? We couldn't have done something a bit more fun and less..tiring," I say catching up to him, breathing hard.

I don't know what he was thinking bringing me here when I'm feeling the absolute worst.

He did make me eat in the morning. He made me eggs and bacon before we left as I got dressed and grabbed my things.

"Exercise helps clear the mind sometimes. You haven't been feeling the best so I thought it might help. Also," he says looking at me with a cringed face. "You seem like you need it."

I glare at him before smacking him.

"Wha- I just mean because you don't really do much. You're dying and I'm not even rushing you. We're just walking."

"Up a hill Zach," I clarify.

He sighs and looks up ahead the trail we're going.

"Fine, I'm sorry. Let's keep going."

I look ahead and groan at the amount we have left until we're to the top of this mountain.

I sigh and follow him along.

After a while, we finally got to the top and the view was great.

You can see a waterfall across the mountain. It was truly beautiful.

"Wow," I sigh looking out. "I've never been here before. How'd you know about it?" I ask.

"Came hiking with a buddy of mine."

I just nod.

"Come here," he says as I follow him to the edge of this cliff. He sits down and pats the spot next to him.

I follow his direction and we just sit in comfortable silence.

"What do you wanna do Mary?" He asks.

I look at him confused and sit with the question for a second until I ask to clarify.

"What do you mean?"

He turns to me.

"In life?"

I think about it and it's a question I've been asking myself recently. More specifically now that I'm with Eddie. I've been wondering what the hell I want to do and how he ties into all of it.

The answer though is..

"I don't know," I tell him honestly. "I'm not sure but I know I want it to be something having to do with art," I say.

That made me think about how I haven't been drawing lately either. Maybe I should. Maybe it'll help me feel a little better too.

I think about my sketchbook though and remember I left it at Eddie's.

"Do you want to go to school?"

"Yeah. I don't think I will though."

"Why?" He asks with furrowed brows.
