As soon as I made it far enough I hopped off the skateboard and I noticed Steve's car pulling up.

Thank god I'm not crying anymore. My tears were minimal thank god.

"Hey...what are you doing down the road on your skateboard?"

"Going to the party.."

"Well-I was coming to pick you up."

"Oh."

He looked at me concerned.

I just grab my board and open the passenger door climbing in.

I can feel his eyes on me.

"You okay?"

"Hm? Oh! Yeah. Just...cold."

He doesn't say anything but he starts up the car.

"I like the makeup," he says flatly. Almost like he doesn't.

I look at him with pinched brows.

"I mean-they go well with the...costume. It looks nice," he says looking flushed.

"Thanks," I say with a chuckle as he clears his throat finally turning the car around and driving to the party.

"I'm surprised by how few trick or treaters you have over here," he says at the empty roads.

The one thing I'm glad of since I basically stormed out and would've caused a scene back home.

"Hm?"

"Uh yeah...not many kids around here. Thankfully," I say making him chuckle.

He just looks around down the street as we move forward and slowly out of my quiet neighborhood.

"So uh...why did you pick me up?"

"Well last time I took you home it was a long drive from the school. Probably longer to get to Kenya's house. I asked Robin and she said you were coming but didn't specify whether you had a ride or not. I just wanted to make sure you got there..."

"Ah..well thanks Steve," I say with a smile.

He just pulls a tight-lipped smile and I can tell his grip on the steering wheel tightens.

I turn to look out at the houses now that have decorations and the kids that we can see now trick or treating.

Although they looked cute, they sure did make it take a hell of a long time to get there.

We didn't talk a whole lot and I wasn't really in the mood to talk. He just always seems annoyed by my presence but he can be sweet company. I've grown pretty fond of him over the last couple of weeks.

We finally got there and it was bigger than I imagined.

There were people all around already wasted.

"Don't move I'm going to find Robin!" Steve said shouting over all the music.

This isn't really my scene. Much less Robins. Steve...maybe. I wonder why Robin would want to come so badly.

I stayed put for a good while until I started getting pushed and shoved by people all around and decided to finally move around.

I strolled and saw a lot of familiar faces from school.

It truly seemed like everyone was here.

I couldn't stop thinking about what my mom said. What she did.

It was running through my head the longer I walked around alone trying to find where I fit in. Which is nowhere.

I start to search for Robin and Steve after a while of being tired of roaming. I walked around the house and didn't see Robin but I found Steve and he was talking with some girl. He was smiling and so was she and that made me happy to see.
