AUTUMN

I stomped the ground because of annoyance that I have been feeling today. I'm asking him but he just ended the call like everything we dealt with are nothing. What if one day, he started to spread rumors about me? I could imagine him being such a jerk monster again.

I stopped bursting out of my anger when I suddenly realized something. Why do I care, anyway? Ayos nga iyon. Mag-iwasan kaming dalawa para tapos ang problema. Siguro ay nagbibiro lang siya tungkol sa pinag-usapan namin kahapon. Nagsayang lang siya ng oras ko. Kung sana maaga akong nakauwi, maaga ko inasikaso si lolo.

Seldus and I are currently walking in the hallway, waiting for Naiane to come. Seldus had told me that Naiane is admiring someone. Her crush is a player from one sport and she keeps following this guy, like a sort of stalker. Obviously, she's giving an effort to her crush because she wouldn't stalk this guy if she wasn't really serious. Seldus is also problematic on his own basketball game. He seemed pissed to their captain.

We are trio problematic this day. I'm kinda problematic to Cradience. Just who the hell is he? Hindi ko na kailangang sundan o hanapin pa ang lalaking iyon. Napakasama ng ugali.

Natigilan ako sa pagtingin ng phone screen ko nang tawagin ni Seldus ang pangalan ni Naiane. Hindi ko itinago ang cellphone sa bulsa dahil maaring tumawag si coach Hermes o ang iba pang tao. Mahirap na, hindi ko naman nilakasan ang volume nitong cellphone ko.

"Naiane, bakit mukhang excited ka?" panimula ni Seldus nang tuluyang lumapit si Naiane rito sa amin. Napahinto kami sa gilid ng hallway, katapat ng isang blangkong silid. Masyado pa kasing maaga para pumasok ang mga guro pero dumadagdag na rin ang mga pumapasok na mga estudyante at dumadaan sila rito.

Naiane rolled her eyes like she usually do whenever she's meeting o see us. She likes doing that to everyone though.

"Duh, of course pupunta ako sa club ni crush," maarteng sagot niya. "Where are you guys heading? You know, masyadong maaga para sa smart things," she added. She's saying smart things whenever someone is reviewing. Smart things for her is like studying hard even it's too early to study. She's only reviewing whenever there's an upcoming exam. She's passing the exam sometimes but at least, good for her.

My eyes widened a bit when I received an unknown number calling. I swiped the screen to take the call and it was late for me to realize this number was his number.

"Hello," I spoke. Napataas ang isa kong kilay dahil sa inis nang wala namang sumagot. Ano bang gusto ng lalaking ito? Napatingin sa akin si Seldus at Naiane dahil sa inis kong mukha. Naghintay ako ng ilang segundo ngunit wala pa rin sumasagot.

After few seconds again, the call ended. I didn't end it, but the damn setter of our team did!

"Kung tatawag ka sumagot ka!" I shouted at my phone even I was already late to shout because he ended the call abruptly. Gulat na tumingin sa akin si Seldus dahil sa pagsigaw ko. Napatingin sa akin ang ilang estudyante na dumadaan dahil malakas akong sumigaw.

Nakakainis!

Maya-maya pa ay nakita ko na naman sa phone screen ko ang numero niya. Tinignan ko lamang ito at iniisip kung sasagutin ko ba ang tawag o hindi. My eyebrows are arched while looking at the phone screen because of my serious annoyance towards him. He's a completely jerk.

"Bakit hindi mo sagutin?" Seldus asked, sounded like suggesting. I just stared at him but I sighed in defeat because this guy who keeps calling me is a damn jerk.

I took the call once again while looking at the wall with sharp looks.

"Why you took so long?" When I heard his serious voice, I took a deep sigh. Why I took so long? Of course, I'm thinking if I'll take this call or not. I thought if I will take the call once again, he wouldn't plan to answer.
