AUTUMN

Cradience held my arm to assist me to stand up. He placed my arms on his shoulders as we started walking towards the exit of gym court. Our members just looked at us but I returned an assuring smile as it followed by my quick nod. They have to win the set without me. Even I'm not talented as Auvinumn, I can catch up. Demirous is easy to predict even he's not using his eye. That's the advantage in whole set.

I don't know if they can win the set this time. The second set is very much intense than the first match. They have Andraed and Laster as substitute players with also the guide of our captain. He has good observations, I know he can guide them for blocking the attacks.

"When you landed down, not only your middle finger got injured. Also your ankle. Your landed was very careless because you've been focusing on that ball. Even the attack is possibly one touch, it still broke your shield. Their wing spiker has different tactics, you have to become more careful next time. He is usually targeting the hand of blockers. Their libero is fast like a cat. Only few members are gifted in their team. Therefore, if their captain isn't around, their defense will become insufficient."

Napatingin naman ako sa sahig at hindi naabalang tumingin sa kaniyang mukha habang naglalakad kami. Tama lahat ng sinabi niya. Nang bumagsak ako sa sahig, ramdam ko na ang unti-unting pagkamanhid ng kanang paa ko dahil namali ang posisyon ko ng pagkabagsak. Kaya napahiga ako sa sahig. Dalawang injury ang natamo ko dahil lang sa tira ng magaling nilang wing spiker.

Bawat hakbang ko ay nararamdaman ko ang sakit ng aking kanang paa na parang iniipit ito sa aking bawat hakbang.

I heard Cradience's deep sigh. My eyes widened in disbelief when he abruptly wrapped his arm around of my waist as he carried me in a bridal style. Gulat akong tumingin sa seryosong mukha nito at nagsimula na itong maglakad ulit.

"H-hoy, gago ibaba mo nga ako!" I protested, trying to manage my voice because we are too close with each other. My chest is like screaming, as if there is something inside of my chest. Whenever he's touching me, my heat is thumping so fast as if Cradience had this heart of mine.

"Don't do that again next time. The team needs you, stop being reckless," he retorted. "I'm doing this for the team. If you'll not cooperate, our team won't going to win."

I scoffed. "Dapat hindi ka na umalis sa grupo. Mayroon tayong medical team, tanga ka ba?"

He stopped nearby the clinic facility. "Hello? There's a medical team?" tanong nito at tumango ako ng dalawang beses.

"So?"

"Anong so?" sarkastiko kong pag-uulit sa sinabi niya. Hapon na hapon ang lakas niyang mang-inis.

"So, I don't care and keep quiet. Why don't just thank me?" iritableng sagot niya at dumiretso sa loob ng clinic. Sinipa lamang nito ang pintuan at pumasok sa loob. Buti na lang at hindi naka-lock ang clinic dahil siguradong babayaran niya ang pintuang iyan. Inilapag ako nito sa higaan at napansin namin na wala ang nagbabantay dito.

"Umalis ka na, hayaan mo na ang nurse mag-asikaso sa akin—"

"Keep quiet. You need few days of rest—"

"Cradience," I called with a hint of warning in my voice. "Let me play the final set. Kailangan ako sa set na iyon dahil alam kong gagamitin ni Demirous ang kanang mata niya," dagdag na tuwiran ko sa kaniya, pinipilit siyang payagan akong maglaro. Dahil kapag natalo kami, hindi kami magkakaroon ng pagkakataong makalaban ang iba pang magagaling na volleyball players sa practice match. Practice match pa lamang ito dahil puwede silang mag-eliminate ng miyembro.
