𝙇𝙚𝙩𝙩𝙮 𝙡𝙖𝙮𝙨 her head back, the porcelain of the tub is cold on her cheek, soothing her pounding headache. She cups some water in her hand, watching the bubbles from the water melt into the warm water before she splashes it on her face.
She scoots down, her whole body slowly falling underneath the fill line and completely disappearing under the water. She tries to stay under for a longer amount of time, her lack of breath somehow soothing all her pain.
She hears Nat call her name and she slowly returns back to the real world, where her head was near explosion and her stomach was completely empty because everything she ate, she puked up.
It had only been a couple days since her home visit with Dr. Banner and she'd completely refused to see anyone. Not that much people were asking for her besides Ivy.
She'd secretly been hoping that James would call her or at least text her, but not one ding from her phone was caused by him. She wouldn't lie, she was a little hurt but she figured he was busy with work and his house construction. Plus it wasn't like he had an obligation to check in with her.
"Take your medicine," Nat instructs, pushing a handful of pills past her lips unexpectedly and then replacing it with a glass of pink lemonade. Letty swallows it begrudgingly, pushing her wet hair back behind her head.
"You could've warned me," she says once she's completely swallowed everything.
"Yeah but you would've fought me."
"They make me feel sick."
"But they help you."
"Yeah- after they make me feel sick."
"How are you feeling today?" She asks.
"I feel so much better. Actually I think I'm going to head to the library in a little." She absolutely did not feel better, but she really missed Ivy. Plus she was kind of hoping to run into James. But she wouldn't admit that out loud.
"You don't feel better," Nat says, catching her in her lie. "You don't have to pretend."
Letty nods, "I know. I'm not." Nat gives her an unconvinced look, shaking her head as she leans back on the sink counter, the baby blue interior of the restroom sticking out specifically as she looks around.
"Alright," Letty says, "I'm going to get out."
Nat turns and walks out of the restroom, closing the door behind her to give her friend privacy. She stands from the tub, pulling the drain and grabbing a towel to wrap around herself.
