"𝙇𝙖𝙮 𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙡𝙡," Bruce's voice instructs from the speaker of the machine. She lays back, her arms on either side of her and her hair splayed out across the hard bed she lays on.

"Is it almost done?" She asks, keeping her movements still as her eyes look up at the blaring light that surrounds her. Technically she knows that you aren't supposed to look into it the whole time, but she always does.

"Almost," he says. Then, someone talking to him is heard before the speaker clicks off. She furrows her brows as the speaker goes silent for what feels like the longest minute of her entire existence.

The light starts to burn her eyes as she continues looking into it, but she still doesn't look away. Her fingers start to twitch nervously, thinking Dr. Banner has forgotten about her.

She goes to talk, but then realizes the speaker is still off, so she begins to move. Just then, the speaker clicks back on. "Hang on, keep still for one more minute Alouette," he says.

She immediately stills, glad to hear that he remembers her presence inside the machine.

Letty never really liked having the scans. They were her least favorite part as a kid besides the treatment itself. But now that she's older, she can kind of appreciate the silence that you feel inside of it.

It's not an eery silence, the gentle hum of the machine making sure of that. But it's a calming silence. It's like time stills and she's just laying in a world of whiteness. The light is even calming in its own way.

She feels like a bird, soaring through the sky. She feels like she's wrapped up in the clouds, and the sun is beating down on her from the close proximity.

She finally closes her eyes, a sheet of red coating her vision.

A second later, Dr. Banner's voice comes through telling her that she's finished. The machine expels her slowly, letting her feet touch the floor of the hospital. She feels weird being barefoot in a hospital, but she couldn't have shoes in the machine.

She finds where she left her slippers on the floor, slipping them on and then waiting for Dr. Banner to open the door for her.

The door opens just as she walks toward it, but she's surprised to see that it's not Dr. Banner who walked through it, it's Steve.

"H-hi," she stutters, taken off guard.

He smiles sweetly, "Hey. I know I'm not who you expected but Dr. Banner has another patient that's in really bad shape right now."
