𝙉𝙖𝙩𝙖𝙨𝙝𝙖 𝙖𝙣𝙙 Alouette were currently sitting on the balcony of Nat's apartment, sipping on homemade drinks the red-head had blended together. Non-alcoholic to account for Letty's heart issues. Not to mention, she wasn't legally allowed to drink. And in the middle sat a box of peculiarly glazed donuts from Sam's bar.

Letty sips on the pink and fruity liquid, her shoeless feet bent up and a half read book in front of her on the porch table. In the sky, there was a rainbow that had appeared after the spring rain fest.

"I got a call from Dr. Banner," Nat says as she pulls the straw through her red-matted lips. A cold sense of fear and shame ices through Letty's veins as Nat stares at her accusingly. "He says that you missed your last treatment."

Letty sighs, deciding it's best to just be honest, "I'm sorry," she blurts apologetically, "I just don't like it."

"So you skip your treatment cycle?" She scolds.

Letty shrugs, "Natasha, try to look at it from my point of view. I've been doing it for three weeks so far, and my hair is already starting to fall out. I feel like crap all the time, and I've lost ten pounds."

Natasha breaths out heavily, "Have you at least been taking your medication?" Letty looks down, her thinning curls folding around her face to hide her shameful expression.

Nat shakes her head with a defeated sigh. She knew that she wouldn't be able to change Letty's mind, so supporting her was her best option. "It's okay Lett, you know I'll stand by you whatever decision you make."

Alouette looks up, "I think I'm going to stop. I'm just going to take my original medication and be how I was before. I was fine. Everything was fine."

"It was different then."

"I know," she breathes out, thinking back to the man she met in the hospital, Leo, and how miserable he was. She didn't want to turn out like that. "Will you be mad if I stop?"

Natasha looks her friend in the eyes, concern visibly displayed on every single one of her features, "No," she says softly, "No I won't."

"To the bitter end?"

Nat shakes her head, remembering the statement they'd shared since middle school, "To the bitter end."

Later that evening, Letty and Nat layed in the meadow behind Juniper's, so far into it that their spot would blend into the horizon from where the diner stood.
